Excellent cruise experience

I have cruised all of the major cruise lines before so I'm not new to cruising. Celebrity Summit was an excellent experience the fellow passengers are delightful and the staff went above and beyond to make my experience top notch. I cruised with my wife who was pregnant at the time so we didn't do much as far as planned activities but the shows were very good and the dining experience was superior ...

We chose this cruise for a couple of reasons. First, it's our sixth Celebrity Cruise and we've loved them all. Second, we can drive to Cape Liberty in less than four hours. No flights!!! We drove down from Syracuse, NY the day before and spent the night at the Courtyard in Elizabeth. The next day, we simply packed up and drove to the port. What a surprise!!! This was our third cruise out ...

Good cruise for beginners

I should preface this by saying my wife and I have done over 50 cruises which of course has a bearing on how I rate a ship. However I try to be honest and think of others who have not been as fortunate as us. This is my opinion of the Celebrity Summit. It was put in service in 2001. I marvel at the fact that a ship has some motors running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. One would think there ...

My DH and I were celebrating our 37th wedding anniversary. We're in the 60s/70s age range. The Celebrity Summit is our favorite ship to sail on. Our time onboard this ship was wonderful. Captain Kate is fabulous and very professional, funny, personable and shows herself frequently around the ship. The staff was very professional, courteous and pleasant as always. Although the ship is older, ...

To celebrate our 10 year anniversary we decided to do another cruise, this was our first on Celebrity having done Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, and Carnival. I've always wanted to go to Bermuda and we were limited on dates we could go, this cruise fit all our requirements. Bayonne Port We got into Newark the day before, we stayed at the Hilton at Penn Station where once we stored our bags ...

I love the Celebrity Summit having sailed on it 3 times before (from Bayonne to Quebec round trip) and wanted to sail on it again to Bermuda where I have never been; (we have also sailed on Carnival (2), Disney (1), Princess (5), Royal Caribbean (1) and Holland America (2); asked our friends if they wanted to join us and they did to celebrate their 51st anniversary while we celebrated our 52nd ...

Went with a Group of friend's and family. Entering the Summit you have your photos taken and then are smothered by a man wanting desperately to sell you an ALL you can eat lobster dinner. Making very clear it is all you can eat lobster when I asked, Can I truly have all I can eat lobster? It is just a $45 up charge. Not bad until you get to the dinning room and it turns out to be all you can eat ...

Best Cruise Ever!

Have cruised over 25 times and this was one of the best! Celebrity goes over the top with service and that's just what I expect when I travel. The friendliness of staff onboard was top notch. The food was good (ate at the Buffet, Main Dining Room, and Tuscan Grille - all excellent), the entertainment was good (some shows were Las Vegas style), the shore excursions were good (took 4 of them)! ...

This comprehensive review is for the Celebrity Summit and a round trip voyage from Bayonne, New Jersey to Bermuda during the period May 14-21, 2017. Overall, the experience was rock solid with a few bumps that Celebrity can fix if they are so inclined. BACKGROUND: My wife and I are both in our 50s. As experienced cruisers, this year’s vacation was to celebrate our 30th wedding ...

Port Liberty was well organized and staff helped usher people along well, including the parking garage. Staff on board were eager to serve and truly wanted us to have a great time. The food was very good and they accommodated gluten free requests without hesitation. The ship was clean and the staterooms were configured well (you could slide your suitcase under the bed too). The entertainment ...
