Passable but not great

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Norwegian Star

We chose this cruise and cruise line because they offered a good price, nice itinerary and some "free" items. We received $100 on board credit, 3 Special dinners and unlimited beverage package. The Unlimited Beverage package was definitely worth the extra you had to pay in gratuities. The $100 on board credit was nice but the special dinners was worthless. We had to pay the gratuities up front ...

I was taken on this cruise as a guest, that my sister earned from Barona Casino. The only positive thing to say was , the entertainment was great. The rest, not so good. The food was poor, drink package was watered down drinks, beds are hard, never personally met our room steward, I got food poisoning halfway threw the trip, . My sister came down with a terrible cold toward end of trip. Couldn't ...

Good Cruise only because we had a suite

I went with my sister and her friends(all seniors) and had a fun time. We made the best of this ship. It is very old and dirty. Some of the architecture is pretty and I was trying to focus on that. There are not enough public restrooms and the ones they have always flooded and were disgusting. The rooms for activities are so so and the entertainment staff I thought were a bit rude and just not ...

This was our first time on Norwegian after several times on Princess and once on Royal Caribbean. Norwegian didn't measure up to either of those lines. Overall relaxing time and the staff were individually very helpful. Overall the cruise was fine, but it could have been much better. Main complaint is the smart phone app. Really great idea, but poorly executed. The bill activity part was ...

We are NCL fans and have always sailed the smaller ships. This was our second trip on the Star and the ship was good. We have 6 and 8 year old and they love this kids club and the open dining concept. We were able to dine at all of the specility resturants and were impressed at the selection. We also viisted the main dining room twice and were happy with the food there. The only slight ...

Great service and choices. Very pleasant experience. Excursions had good variety and well done. Hatch next to our room was not secure during first 2 days of cruise and kept us up at night. Twice we never received an iron and ironing board after numerous calls. The dancers and singers were very good. I thought the shows were well done. Food was very good, and could fit any ...

Wanted to cruise Mexican Riviera . Cabin was great Morgan are room steward went above and beyond his duty didn't have to ask for anything very important to us ( when he was in the hallway and seen my wife coming are door was opened for her even though he was doing something else) Great job Morgan!!! We did three specialty dining options first time for this. It was good not as busy as we thought ...

This was my first experience in a Suite. The prior 12 cruises on NCL have been in inside cabins (11 times) and obstructed oceanview (once). While I will go back to those choices for economic reasons, I now appreciate the service, amenities and space of a suite. I was treated supremely well by all the crew members involved. Cabin 12506 (Family suite) is spacious and, while it doesn't have a ...

Overall average cruise. Have had better with Norwegian. Getting on the ship was a nightmare. Waited over 3 hours in line. Ship needs to go into dry dock ( I understand it is planned for May). Service was not very good. Seemed like they did not have enough staff. Activities were ok. Norwegian did not set themselves apart. Disappointed in the ship. The only good ports ended up being Puerto ...

This was my third cruise with NCL the first two out of Europe, no complaints. This cruise from Los Angeles bad from start to finish. I paid for ship transfer from Airport to ship thought this safer as traveling alone was advised representative would meet me, this did not happen several phone calls were made from a customer services desk to number given which was in Miami still no transport ...
