Great itinerary. Lots of fun and relaxation.

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Norwegian Star

We chose the Panama Canal as a bucket list trip. I enjoyed the various ports which were all new to me except for Grand Cayman. We went kayaking in Cabo San Lucas, and zip lining in Puntarenas Costa Rica. The volcanos in Nicaragua were very neat BUT it was a long bus ride to visit the volcano for 10-15 minutes. We also did not have sufficient time in the little town of Catarina. A longer time in ...

Not a great ship (Hotel management poor)

First of all this was our 14th cruise on NCL and the worst one yet. The main purpose of this cruise from LA to Miami via the Panama Canal was to get the ship back to Miami for repositioning. Port stops where short and problematic in cabo San Lucas there was very long wait times for tenders. In Acapulco people where lead off the ship to wait on the dock in the sun for 45 min.because the tour busses ...

This was my second time with ncl was my 16th Cruise. The food was slow to get out to us once it did it was barely lukewarm. I was in a sweet and had special place that I could have breakfast and lunch. When I ate there the food service was great. It was how it should be in all the dining rooms. When we where on the pool deck there was 2 slide they where not open very much for the kids to play on. ...

We enjoyed all the entertainment, even the comedian, lol. We even gambled a little i.e. bingo. The casino just smelled like cigarettes so there was no way we were going in there. The specialty restaurants are a nice break from the other restaurants. Found out that yes we don't need to eat that much. Also we are past that age where being drunk is a lot of fun and were so glad we did not buy ...

An ancient behemoth falling apart

The cabin was extremely cramped. The beds were maybe a foot or two wide with half of one of the beds being covered with a bunk bed. For the price this was expected. Our bathroom toilet stopped working in the room and upon complaining I was told I would have to wait my turn as over two floors did not have working restrooms. We had around 7 rooms between all of our family, all of which had issues. I ...

First cruise, ok but a little disappointing

To start, let me just say this was my first cruise. So it’s difficult for me to give an accurate review when I really don’t have anything else to compare it to. That being said I can give facts of what happened and reading this you can compare it to cruises you’ve been on. EMBARKING: We embarked from L.A. Luckily it was inside because after waiting 3 HOURS!.. we finally boarded the ship. There ...

Clogged Toilets (see CDC review)

During our entire cruise the public toilets were clogged and overflowing. Raw sewage was 2 inches deep in the women's bathrooms. It's amazing no one got Norovirus! The staff didn't seem concerned when we repeatedly reported this problem. They simply put up an "out of order" sign. Our cruise itinerary changed. Our stops were reversed, which wasn't really a problem. But we were late in to ...

We got into Los Angeles the day before and stayed at the LAX Embassy Suites. On cruise day I had reserved a car service which got us to the pier on time around 10:30 AM. Lines were reasonable and moved steadily and we had a Group 4 boarding pass - we weren't sitting very long before boarding started around 11:30. We ate in the Versailles MDR for lunch which was ok (we found that MDR food and ...

We decided to do a group cruise for spring break and picked Norwegian, we have cruised on other cruiselines and decided to try this one. It was truly terrible. Dinner the first night there was no vegetarian option for me, the staff offered a garden salad, then said he would have the manager speak with me. I sat through the appetizer watching everyone eat. She told me it was Easter dinner..this ...

Only a few exceptional crew, most seemed annoyed to serve the passangers.

The embarkation and disembarkation were smooth. Cabin was clean and kept clean throughout the cruise to the Mexican Riviera. The ship was always being worked on, cleaning and painting was continuing throughout our cruise. Dining was fair. The buffet was always crowded and busy. The restaurants on the ship that were included in the price were fair, and only a few of the staff working in the ...
