For this cruise I took my 17y/o and 32 y/o daughters and left the men and grandkids at home. It was to be a special bonding time and didn't disappoint.

This cruise was a real treat for me. No cleaning, No cooking, No kids to drop off to sports or school. This is what I call a holiday. Room service twice a day, full buffet from 6.30am to 10.30pm not to mention all the snacks and 24 hour room service.
The staff on board were fantastic, always smiling and ready to help with anything we needed.

Despite (a staff member told me) RC advising their staff 6 months earlier, my wife and I were told only AFTER paying our balancing payment that 25% of the four destinations were not be made. We chose this time of year as my daughter was close to finishing school, but many schools are still going for a few weeks, so it minimised the amount of younger children and gave her the opportunity to mix with more older teenagers.

I am not happy about the reduction of benefits to Diamond members. We have cruised with Royal Caribbean International many times and expected the same benefits we received on our other Royal Caribbean International cruises. We cruised on the Celebrity Eclipse in May and received a lot more benefits! Previous Diamond benefits on Royal Caribbean International should be restored.

I love Royal Caribbean,first cruise on Explorer,the ship is beautiful everything i had expected, but much like Voyager have cruised on Radience,Rhaposidy,Voyager.Embarcation was smooth,straight on at 10.30am,The friendly smiles nice to see,then the welcome aboard photos.

We had a lovely relaxing holiday on the Explorer of the Seas.
We got to the ship at 11.30 and were on board within 20 minutes.
Our balcony stateroom was a good size with plenty of storage. There is nothing nicer than having a balcony and we made plenty of use of it during the cruise.
