Review for a Australia & New Zealand Cruise on Explorer of the Seas

For this cruise I took my 17y/o and 32 y/o daughters and left the men and grandkids at home. It was to be a special bonding time and didn't disappoint. Some call these short sailings booze cruises. Whilst there were some that did just that, they were in the minority. Embarkation was a breeze and we were on board by 11am. Meals in the Windjammer was as I had come to expect, the same plain, ...

This cruise was a real treat for me. No cleaning, No cooking, No kids to drop off to sports or school. This is what I call a holiday. Room service twice a day, full buffet from 6.30am to 10.30pm not to mention all the snacks and 24 hour room service. The staff on board were fantastic, always smiling and ready to help with anything we needed. There were a few staff members who stood out for ...

Despite (a staff member told me) RC advising their staff 6 months earlier, my wife and I were told only AFTER paying our balancing payment that 25% of the four destinations were not be made. We were travelling UK to Australia for this cruise and to miss out on one destination out of four was a major blow. RC would make no exception to the 'it's in the small print' rule. Not even, perhaps, a ...

We chose this time of year as my daughter was close to finishing school, but many schools are still going for a few weeks, so it minimised the amount of younger children and gave her the opportunity to mix with more older teenagers. 90-95% of the 1200 staff were fantastic (although some only turned it on once it got to the end of the cruise and they thought they might miss out on a good tip!) ...

I am not happy about the reduction of benefits to Diamond members. We have cruised with Royal Caribbean International many times and expected the same benefits we received on our other Royal Caribbean International cruises. We cruised on the Celebrity Eclipse in May and received a lot more benefits! Previous Diamond benefits on Royal Caribbean International should be restored. 900 unsupervised ...

Family cruise - opportunity to relax together whilst someone else took care of the chores. Total balls up, cabins allocated all over the ship, nowhere near each other, in spite of being same cabin categories. Upgraded 2 of the cabins - but not the repeat clients (5th timers). Meal times not available as booked, meant family split and consequently could not attend shows/events/meals together. ...

I chose Royal Caribbean to have our first cruise as I had had very good reviews from family and friends. We left Sydney on the 20th of November for the South Pacific. We were not let down. Everything about our nine night cruise was excellent except the shore excursions. The food, the waiters and our cabin were all first rate. Our cabin was cleaned and fresh towels delivered twice a ...

We had a lovely relaxing holiday on the Explorer of the Seas. We got to the ship at 11.30 and were on board within 20 minutes. Our balcony stateroom was a good size with plenty of storage. There is nothing nicer than having a balcony and we made plenty of use of it during the cruise. We had lunch at Café Promenade most days, they had nice rolls and wraps and you could get a hot roast ...

A huge thankyou to Rajeev & Nilesh our waiters in the main dining room. These 2 were outstanding in the level of service they gave us,we highly reccommend to anyone travelling on Explorer of the seas to seek them out. They service tables 356,357 etc & they are exceptionally friendly & attentive. The entertainment on board was great, especially the adults comedy night with the cruise director. The ...
