Have been on carnival spirit and legend, we find the spirit to be a better boat, food selection is still below par in the bistro at night which is a shame but during the bay, there is more selection. Liked Guys burger joint, & fat jimmys, not sure why they Close these so early. Would be good if open during the evening.
Desi puts on a good show in the restaurant at night, which is a must to see. ...
Terrible customer service. Had to line up in huge lines for food everyday, lines for kids club (waited about 45 minutes the first day and they tried to pass me someone else's child to pick up). My Children hated the kids club, they barely interact with the children. Terrible food and not much variety. I will never go on another cruise again. We paid for a suite which was quite expensive and ...
Embarkation: To my surprise embarkation was a breeze compared to other Carnival cruises I have been on. Literally within 10 min of getting to the Overseas Passenger Terminal we were on the ship. Make it easier if purchased a suite or have high vifp status.
Ship: We had sailed on the Spirit before it left to Australia back in 2012 and may I say it wasn't all that. But WOW! this time around it ...
This is a practical guide on a trip to the Pacific Islands aboard the Carnival Spirit with tips and observations in no particular order. It’s younger sister ship the Carnival Legend also applies. The Islands visited were Santo Luganville, Port Villa, Mystery Island, Isle of Pines and Noumea. I hope it helps someone looking for answers to questions they may have.
When choosing a cabin room ...
This cruise was to celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary.
Embarkation was fast , friendly and efficient. All staff involved were great. Our boarding time was 12 - 12.30, checked our bags in around 9.30 . Had time to have coffee and sightseeing around Circular Quay before boarding.
We were having lunch on board before 12.30. Room was made up but no bags until later. When we went to our ...
As it was my first cruise I did not know what to expect. I found the whole experience a joy. The ship is well set out with everything easy to locate. The cabin was quite roomy & well maintained with friendly & courteous staff. The main dining room was a bit crowded at times but with over 2,300 guests it was still great. The Matre'd and wait staff were great, friendly fun it was a pleasure to dine ...
This was our first time on the Carnival Spirit and cruising as a family (travelling with my husband and 2 year old son). 5 years ago my husband and I did a fantastic cruise around the Greek islands, so we had high hopes. The Carnival Spirit did exceed some of our exceptions but some elements were a bit disappointing. All in all, it was a very good value family holiday.
We took a Carnival ...
My wife (28) and I (27) took this crusie as part of our honeymoon. We booked this cruiseline knowing that Carnival target families, but had hoped that being well out of School holidays it wouldn't be too bad. Unfortuantely, there were loads of kids! I must say the ship is fairly well equipped for families/children, but i wish parents would respect other travellers by LOOKING AFTER THEIR KIDS AND ...
What a poor cruise. May be good for families with kids, but as an older couple who went outside of school holidays, this was a disaster. Over 400 kids. We were expecting a few younger kids but not this number. As a result all pools were full and the over 18 area was full unless you got there before 9am. If you want not to be jostled/hassled by kids, I would check how many are going.
The food ...
Great family holiday for a first time cruising family like ours. The check in process was so much easier than departing from an airport. As there are 5 in our family, we has two internal cabinets next to each other, 6118 & 6120. Rooms very quiet and the beds very comfortable.
We enjoyed the food very much. We had buffet breakfast each morning, had lunch at a variety of restaurants and dinner ...
