Very comfortable, excellent service and food

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Seven Seas Mariner

User Avatar

We sailed for 18 days from San Francisco to New York via the Panama Canal. Prior to the cruise we had a one day tour of Muir Woods and Sonoma, with lunch in Sonoma City - a lovely small town. Embarkation and disembarkation were the only disappointments, and Regent is not at fault. The 3rd party handler in San Francisco failed to provide transportation to the ship for the majority of ...

Artful Travelers changed this cruise from good to Great!

We chose this cruise because it meant a short flight to Vancouver and a limo home from San Francisco. Flying has become our least favorite part of traveling. Mariner is a beautiful ship even if she needs a facelift. We started cruising on her twelve years ago when she was a Radisson ship before becoming Regent, and later joining NCL. We enjoyed her in 2005 and still enjoy her now. We are ...

Won't refund a canceled tour - too many unsupervised kids

I would rate them a little higher but a month after a Regent's canceled tour which I was to be refunded on my credit card, getting a round around. Lot's of promise but no refund a month later. As far as the cruise very smooth embarkation and disembarkation, thanks. Rooms looking pretty tired and need some updating but clean and taken care of daily with no problems. Not a big issue, not in the ...

I choose this cruise because it was all inclusive. . We arrived at Vancouver, stayed at the beautiful Fairmont Vancouver the day before the cruise had a lovely breakfast which was included. Our luggage was picked up from inside our hotel room and transported to the ship. The cruise bus picked us up at our scheduled time. We were checked in, through customs and on the ship without delay or lines. I ...

Stunning deterioration in quality

Regents’ overwhelming message, its Corporate Mission Statement is, I believe, is “ Boy are you lucky we let you sail with US. Really lucky, and don’t you ever forget it.” We started sailing Regent in 2010 and have sailed six times, 70 nights. We have sailed four times on the Mariner, once on the Voyager, and once on the Explorer. Our most recent sailing was Alaska in August, 2017 on the ...

Excellent cruise through the Alaskan island passage

Why Regent? We selected Regent because of their upscale reputation and because they had a follow-on tour to Denali after the cruise. We usually cruise on Azamera and Oceania because we like smaller ships with better service. We found Regent to be a cut above those two. Previous reviews complained about the quality of service and wine. We found the service to be excellent and the wines ...

I chose this cruise for my group of 4 adults because it was a smaller ship, and 7 days long. My husband and I had never been on a cruise before - the other couple had been one several cruises. The staff was polite, helpful, and always available, and prompt to help ! The rooms were spacious, and comfortable, the bed was cozy and comfortable! Shower was nice, balcony had comfortable lounging ...

A great cruise to a beautiful part of the country

The Mariner was a beautiful ship with amazing staff, lots to do, good food, great ports of call and fun excursions. It was our first trip to Alaska and it was great. The scenery was gorgeous all the way from north to south. The size is just right so you have enough variety in restaurants, activities, excursions but you do not feel like you are surrounded by hundreds of people. The cabins are ...

First Cruise/Fabulous Experience

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Seven Seas Mariner

I read all of the reviews I could find to select the best cruise for my family. I didn't want a huge ship with crowded facilities and screaming children. Although this cruise was pricey, the cruise discourages tips, and everything is included. There is no nickel and diming that I have heard occurs on other cruise lines. It turned out that this cruise met all of my expectations and more. The ...

Other folks invited us to go with them , so we did as we had not sailed on this line prior. Really disappointing. Very inconsistent food and service in the dining venues except for Prime 7 and Signatures. Mediocre foods some night at best , very good other nights. A joke for a tea service in the late afternoons. We just expected so much more for this highly overpriced line and have received much ...
