Cabin 556
Sep 2016
A lifetime high trip By: SannyAnnie
Cabin was spacious and tidy. Very nice to have a couch to sit on, instead of just the beds or a chair. Bathroom was roomy, with a full bathtub (!!). Not a tiny little shower stall. Fabulous! The only down side was the single electrical outlet. Well, single US wired outlet. There was also a single EU wired outlet. That made charging various cameras and devices (and hearing aids for one of us) extremely difficult. For some reason, the 4 USB adapter I brought would not stay plugged into the outlet. AT ALL. Wobbled, and would not charge. Fortunately, we were able to use the "shaving" outlet in the bathroom. Power in it was limited - two iPads at once were too much of a draw - but we made do. The ship is nearing 25 years old. We heard onboard that it will be sold next summer.

Disappointing By: sparkle57912
We had a large cabin view room aft on the main floor. This made it convenient for embarkment, disembarkment. Closet space was small. The tub did not hold water well. The room was clean. Each day the steward left towel animals on the bed. The beds were comfortable.

Cabin 544

Cabin was spacious with a desk, chair, couch and two night stands. Very clean. Lots of room in the closet. Bathroom had shower in the bath tub and was pretty roomy. Comfy bed. There was a loud clicking noise in our room. The staff thought it was coming from the window, but could never fix. This was very annoying when trying to sleep. Location was nice. Close to laundry room and not far from stairs.

Cabin 541

Our cabin was clean, well maintained and very roomy. Being on the Main Deck 5, we had very convenient access to tenders and the gangway. We were close to a stair tower so we felt like we were very well located. Beds were very comfortable. Storage was great. Bath room set up was excellent. I love the curtain in HAL cabins that separates the dressing area from the main cabin. This made getting ready a breeze.

Cabin 649
Jul 2013
649 is an ocean view cabin on the main deck with a large picture window and a full sized pullout sofa. The cabin was very roomy with lots of storage, an actual tub (though small sized and a considerable climb up) and lots of room to move around. The location was very good just aft of the aft elevators so it was a quick trip to any of the dining areas and a short walk to any other place on the ship. We did get a good bit of noise and vibration when the ship was manuevering into and out of port most likely from the thrusters and reversing cavitation but it didn't last too long.

Cabin 559

Our stateroom was on Deck 5. It was a relatively normal stateroom experience. A couple notable nuances are that the staterooms dont have a refrigerator. We didnt realize how much we took a refrigerator for granted. This undoubtedly was due to the age of the ship, which is why we also had bathtubs! They also have just two plug-ins, which are just not enough with all the electronics we travel with. Fortunately our cabin steward, Budi, brought us an extension cord with multiple plug-ins that saved the day! The reading lights are those annoying strips that hardly poke over the pillows, leaving you to read in the dark. The creaking whenever we hit even moderate seas told us that the Maasdam probably is about ready to be retired. Our cabin steward did a great job keeping us in fresh towels and our stateroom clean. The main negative to this cabin is that it's next to the gangway, so it gets quite loud on mornings that the ship docks. Don't plan to sleep in on those days!

Stayed on Deck 6 Lower Promenade Cabin 321. Excellent Location. Center of the ship, near elevators and stairs. Easy access to walking deck. Outside Cabin. Loved the location!

Cabin 644
Dec 2012
Cabin 644 was excellent. Very quiet despite being bellow an open veranda hallway that's the "balcony" of the lanai staterooms upstairs but can be publicly accessed. It was close to the stairs and elevators that took you right to the dining room and the lido buffet without being too close to have any noise from it. The room was nice with a sofa bed and a small tub in the bathroom. Window is very nice and large too with perfect views. Highly recommended room. Also, since it's on the bottoms floors and close to the center of the ship the rocking of the ship was less noticeable than in other areas of the ship.

Cabin 640

Very nice ocean view cabin. Bigger than usual. Didn't like the make up mirror situated on the desk in cabin, instead of in bathroom. Would have preferred a shower, instead of a tub, we had to hike over. The cabin was very new and very clean.

D552 Great cabin, but for the noise of the people in the passageway waiting for their laundry.

I had cabin 554!! Great location, could get to the elevators in no time. Near the elevators that lead to the gangway in port. At times noisy from people using the laudary late at night. Would book this cabin again!!
