Reviews we read said no room for suitcases, there was heaps under the bed, and in the cupboard, we had empty drawers ect left over.
Fridge wasn't very cold but we didn't need to really use it.
Bed was comfy enough, our son had a lounge that pulled out which was nearly as big as ours.
As mentioned, the vibration was a bit at first, we heard others closer to the rear had it a bit worse but again, I think it was really only on the first and last day when going at full steam.
Rooms were cleaned (really) well.
Shower had new tap ware and was all in good order in the bathroom.
Tv had lots of promotional stuff, also funny onboard channel, two different movies daily, kids channels ect.
Note, we had the wifi package, it was pretty patchy so would probably just pay at the Internet cafe next time.
Balcony had heaps of room, you could have 4 or 5 people over for drinks easily if you wanted.
Aircon worked well.
There was a smell one day but we think they were polishing all the brass close to the stairs near our room, no big deal.
All in all, I think this would be a good room to get considering the chance of noise above in other areas, I.e pool ect, if you wanted quiet time in the day. Read entire member review >>
Great cabin - made the trip for us. Gave us double the room of a regular balcony and only $149 more for our family of 3 - When I was picking the cabin and saw an aft balcony was available for same price I snapped it up and was glad I did when I saw the room. We had heaps of storage, cabin kept very clean by Virginia, our stateroom attendant. TV worked well. Location suited us down to the ground, was very quiet and we used the 'secret staircase' quite a bit. Has spoiled us for the future! Read entire member review >>
We had a great cabin; it was quiet & very well maintained.
Our balcony was quite large, with 2 lounge recliners + 2 chairs & a small table.
I found it was quiet and out of the wind and was very pleased we had a balcony room.
We did find one morning the balcony was covered in soot; it was cleaned very quickly and really didn't limit us in using it at all. Read entire member review >>
Like the rest of the ship it was tired looking but just about did the job. Decent sized balcony, dated table with two chairs and not great privacy from cabins either side. The noise from the atrium entertainment and pool deck above was not really an issue for us though others complained. The cabin attendant was superb. Read entire member review >>
Cabin is located on deck 8 aft underneath the solarium. We knew the location when we booked and assumed that there would be chair scraping during the day but thought it would be quiet at night....wrong. The solarium is tiled (they need to rethink that for future refits with suites underneath) and the sound is magnified quite a bit. The chair scraping I coped with but it was the food trolley (which sound like freight trains in the cabin) that make the most noise. They must use the galley for other parts of the ship because the trolleys went all night, until we complained. I am sure we weren't the first to complain so I guess they try it each cruise and then adjust when they get complaints. Even so the trolleys stop just before midnight and start again between 5.30am and 6am.
The suite is quite nice with lots of cupboards and you can put your luggage in the wardrobe. There is a sofa and club chair in the room which aren't really that comfortable. The bathroom has a shower over the bath (which is full size), the toiletries they give you are ok, like you get at an average hotel. The bed is quite comfortable and they use nice sheets. The balcony is quite large with both a table and chairs and a sun lounge. We are avid coffee drinkers and there is a coffee machine in the room, but it is old and the coffee they give you is truly awful, so we didn't use it at all, preferring to get coffee from the solarium or coffee shop. Very good.....couple of noises at night but I guess is normal. We heard many times like someone running on the ceiling, we never knew what it was because we had the solarium on top of our room...maybe was the dish car? Bed was amazing! we didn't miss our tempur mattress at home... Read entire member review >>
Fantastic position on the eighth level. Centre of the ship and very close to the staircase and lift for ease, yet incredibly quiet. The suite is positioned directly below The Diamond Club which is carpeted and rarely used, therefore no noise from above. The balcony was a wonderful addition and roof extension protected the outdoor space when we did have a small amount of rain. Definitely a winner! Read entire member review >>
This cabin is a long way down the corridor towards aft (back) of ship but that was ok it meant we had to do some walking after eating !! It also meant not much passing traffic so pretty quiet and it is right near some (secret) stiars up to the solarium pool area via the spa which we used often except at night when the spa was shut after 9pm.
It is below the hairdressing / nail salon part of the spa so no above noise at all.
For a JS it was roomy and spacious, had two sofa chairs and a three seater lounge that could fold out to a double bed and the balcony pretty big. I was disappointed to not have a walk in wardrobe area as was stated on deck plans. There were plenty of cupboards and drawers but there was not any where to stuff suitcases which was annoying as that was one of the bonus reasons we decided to upgrade. It appears that there are several different cabin designs in same category so it is luck of the draw as to your layout.
We wanted twin beds but wanted them split far apart (as I am a snorer) so we rearranged the whole room and had the two beds facing different directions on different walls and our room attendant laughed and said she had never seen that !! It worked for us and we paid for it so we will have it how we wanted it !! Also there was No sun-lounge out on balcony and more than enough room for one....we saw some other cabins had one on our last day and wished we had thought to of asked the staff to bring us one down from the top deck as they were hardly used up there.
Our beds were comfy....I don't like firm but i would say they were medium and we requested extra pillows as I am asthmatic. Some pillows were firm some soft.....Bathroom good, amenties provided but we didnt use them and plenty of hot water anytime. The shower was in a bath with hand held sprayer and the bath was a great treat. There was no full length mirror which i like to have and it was difficult putting on makeup in bathroom but lighting was good.
Air cond worked just fine, no problems. There was no clock but in this century that was not a problem as i just used by mobile phone and had it on flight mode. Room had a small fridge more like a cooler and didn't get too cold but was adequate but many we spoke to said that many of general rooms did not have fridges. Linen was all clean, crisp and fresh and white no complaints.
There is no laundry and the few people we spoke to who used the service were happy with it except for one family who had lost 6 shirts as labelling came off in wash they were told....so lesson no 399 of cruising....if you use ships laundry label your own clothes!!
We looked into several of the inside cabins on this floor and they seemed pretty roomy. Read entire member review >>
Same size as narrow hotel room. Of good standard. Shower decent strength. Bed comfy. Struggled with size of double bed. It's a double not a king. Pretty clean. Family of 6 in three junior suites, would struggle with anything smaller. Read entire member review >>
Cabin 8572 is located under the fitness center and specifically, under the treadmills. There is a near-constant pounding coming through the cabin ceiling from 6am to 10pm from the joggers. This, combined with the worn furnishings and rusting balcony, caused us to say "never again" to the Legend. Read entire member review >>
We love the Jr. Suite. There is an abundance of drawer space for storage, and extra room to move around. The bathroom provides a tub and space for all your toiletries. The balcony is one third larger than the balcony staterooms, and comes with much nicer chairs and table. Read entire member review >>
The extra room was really appreciated , and the balcony was nice since there was more room to move on it . The extra closet space came in handy and I didn't even use all my space in the drawers . Read entire member review >>
The room was nice and roomy with plenty of storage space. I loved the coffee pot in the room. It was close to the elevator - and very convenient to everything. Be careful, though, if you sail in the winter. Our room got really chilly on the last night because of the cold balcony glass. Read entire member review >>
We stayed in a Junior Suite, room 8046, and found the room to be spacious and well-maintained however during the early mornings we could sometimes hear chairs scraping from the deck above (pool deck), as the chairs were set up for the day Read entire member review >>
Cabin 8034 is a "Junior Suite" located amid ships next to the entry point from the Centrum elevators. It was a nice sized cabin with lots of space in closets, drawers and on ledges. New bed configurations do not allow suitcases to fit under the bed. We moved the life jackets from the main closet to under the bed and that left lots of room for 3 checked bags with carry on bags stored inside them. Nice double bed with no middle hump to keep one awake at night. The sofa made up into a nice bed that our granddaughter said was quite comfortable to sleep in.The flat screen TV had some satellite channels. But these came and went based on our position relative to satellite signals.Bathroom was a nice size with tub, shower and lots of amenities. The updated shower head was nice. My only complaint was the tiny tulip sink that had a tap that did not reach out far enough to get ones hands under when trying to wash...annoying but not a deal breaker. There were two clean plush robes hanging on the back of the bathroom door. There were two 110 volt electrical outlets in the main cabin and a combination safe.Since most nightly events were held in the Centrum area, there was a small amount of noise coming into the cabin in the evening. Most nights the centrum noise ended between 11 and 11:30 pm.There was also a certain amount of noise caused by the movement of Food carts on deck 9 during the night hours. It did not keep us awake, or bother us. However if you are sensitive to noise then I suggest you book a balcony on deck 7 where there is nothing noisy above you.The large balcony had three chairs and a round table on it and, had the weather been better, would have been perfect for a balcony breakfast.Cabin was cleaned twice or more daily and always when we were out. junior suite 8046 was roomy, greatly located near to the centre of the ship and a short walk from the stairs/lifts.There was a little noise late at night with crew moving furniture around but lasted a few minutes.Having the bath was an essential for us due to health issues but gave us a large room as a result of this choice.Nice furniture and layout. Large balcony for 2. Travel in style! Read entire member review >>
Let me think. Issues............???????? Ah, none. Excellent service, comfort and view. Oh yes, we couldn't get the AC low enough to counteract the blanket. Yes, we suffered. Read entire member review >>
The cabin we stayed in was perfect for sleeping and getting ready! Whenever I think about rooms for vacations, they are used for two reasons getting ready and sleeping. Other than that you are not in the room very often. We were on the inside of the ship, so we did not have any balcony. My parents on the other hand did have a balcony, and it was perfect! It had a beautiful view! For seven days the closet was plenty big, and I am a girl who packs a lot! When picking out a room just think about how often you would really be in the room for. Nice location, near enough to the lifts and stairs for convenience but far enough away to be quiet. Furniture needs updating, but quite comfortable, nice flat-screen TV, bed very comfortable too. Read entire member review >>
Good sized cabin, quiet and well attended. The only complaint was that the balcony was often covered in soot and I think it would have been better to take a side balcony stateroom. Read entire member review >>
Very big balcony, plenty of storage, quiet hallway during day, can hear music from atrium at night, can hear daily activites from 9th floor above (pool area), shower/tub in bathroom, phone placement bad Read entire member review >>
Junior Suite 8068: Nice sized with good storage space. Room looks a little worn and plain but was very comfortable. William was our room attendant. He was fabulous. The best part of this room is that it is near the secret staircase which goes up to the Spa and right to the Solarium Cafe. It is right under the spa so you will hear some noise occasionally from that. At night though, it was very quiet. Read entire member review >>
