Two twin beds (can convert into queen-size), private balcony, sitting area with sofa, and a private bathroom. Rates vary from deck to deck. (204 sq. ft., balcony 41 sq. ft.) Please note: Staterooms 9252 & 9652 have partially obstructed views.
CABIN - As for the cabin, we had cabin 9594, adjoining room (9596) with our daughters. It was located right in the middle of the ship, close to the stairs and the open area overlooking the rest of the floors. Was afraid of the possibility of noise, but to our surprise, no noise at all. The size of the cabin was expected, excellent size balcony, safe work, plenty of space in closet and drawers. The mini frig however didn't seem to keep our drinks cold.
The BIGGEST complaint I had with our room was the temperature; it just would not get cold enough for me. I perhaps got an average of 2-3 hours of sleep a night, which just was not enough. The staff did everything they could to accommodate, sent service guy out 2 times, offered another room, but determined it they are regulating air to only get so cool, it wouldn't have made a difference, plus the room offered was so far away from our daughters. If I wouldn't have spent so much money for the cruise, I would have flown home upon arrival at first port, but stuck it out. The only saving grace was our room attendant, Oscar. I asked if he could locate a fan to help at least try and cool things down, and "bless his soul" he was able to find one. If it wasn't for that, my whole cruise would have been a bust. Deck 9, aft. Was clean and cleaned well daily. We took naps during many of the days so we told our room attendant, Indira, she didn't have to make the beds for the evening on those days. She did get us ice twice a day for 9 of the 10 days. Only one of the nights did we get a towel animal.
We had a good view of the ports and land when arriving each day. The room fit our needs and was very comfortable. Read entire member review >>
Loved the location. Seemed to be average size for a ship. It is right under the running track. The first day or two we thought it might be a problem with hearing people running over our heads early in the morning. Either we got used to it or people stopped running early in the morning by day three;). It wasn't an issue. Read entire member review >>
Balcony cabin. Grooves in the drawers were the handles and they were thick with dust (not just a weeks worth) Room is tired and needs updating. Bathroom drains were a bit smelly so as long as you kept the plug in the sink it was ok. Bed is next to the balcony. Room had plenty of storage space and was a good position on the ship. No longer get chocolates on the pillow (not that we needed them). Read entire member review >>
The cabin has a sofa and lots of storage. Shower has a sliding door vs the flimsy curtains on other ships we have been on. Balcony is large with two lounge chairs and table,Two regular chairs and table. Be aware there is no air flowing through and gets really hot out there.
You do get vibrations from the engine and can feel the bed moving.
Toilet stopped working a few times. Not sure if this was a fluke or chronic problem with this room Read entire member review >>
The cabin was a standard balcony room. The balcony itself was very large. It had two upright chairs and a table. For future cruisers, I must note here is a wide ledge beyond the balcony railing so you can't see directly below but you still get a great ocean view. Read entire member review >>
I was in a D2 cat. aft facing balcony on deck 10 (room 1104). This row of cabins sit directly under the outdoor dining area of the Windjammer Café. (About 1/3 of the balcony space is exposed to those looking down from the Windjammer Café directly above). Also, something to note is that each morning between 4:00 and 5:00 am, the cleaning crew in the Windjammer Café were moving (scraping) those chairs above. That noise was easily heard. I could set my watch to the time this would occur. Once the Windjammer opened at 7:00 am, one could hear the chairs scraping the floor throughout the day. (I am thinking a better bet, If one were interested in the aft cabins, would be to choose a room on deck 8 or 9). Even from my deck, 10, I really had no view of those below me. But, deck 11 (Windjammer Café) did have a partial view of my balcony on deck 10. My room was very spacious. For the most part it was clean. There was some dust on the dresser drawer handles, which if not pointed out wouldn't be noticed by the room steward. Another observation I made was that the sheers between the sliding glass door and the curtain was looking a bit stained. Another observation which might not be noticed if not opening and closing the sliding glass door with some regularity. Read entire member review >>
We had a D2 corner aft balcony and it was wonderful! We loved this cabin, which was a bit roomier than the standard balcony cabin and had a gigantic balcony. Since it was at the end of the ship, it was super quiet...we never heard anyone in the hall. We felt no vibration whatsoever in this cabin, but we did have calm seas the entire week. We will most certainly book the cabin again. Read entire member review >>
We had a rear facing aft cabin on deck 7. It was a superior balcony room. From what I can tell the rear facing balconies were about twice as big as a normal balcony. We had room from 2 lounges, a table and 2 normal chairs. The regular balconies only have room for 2 chairs and table, no loungers. We loved having a balcony and would never book another cruise without one. We loved leaving the sliding door open at night for a fresh ocean breeze and sounds of the waves. We especially loved having a rear facing balcony because we felt we had the best view. We could see both the left and the right side of port while pulling in, and we had the most spectacular view of the islands as we left port each evening. We felt the over all size of the room was great and we had no issues getting around. I was surprised with how much storage there was in our room and there was definitely enough room to store all our things. Read entire member review >>
We were satisfied with the size of the room, plenty of space in the closets & shelves. We were able to put our luggage under the bed. Balcony access was nice, really enjoyed having coffee in the morning as we docked. Plenty of space for the two of us and we used it to dry our swim suits. Bed mattress was thin but front desk delivered a pad which made it much better. Read entire member review >>
Our room steward, Charles was great! Room was always cleaned promptly when we left. The bathroom was tiny!! The cabin was smaller than other cruise ships. You could not have a closet door open and have someone else open the bathroom door at the same time. Read entire member review >>
9254 has OBSTRUCTED VIEWS ON ALL 4 sides!!! window cleaning equipment on top, bottom and the ladder for the equipment on the right, on the left is a HUGEEEE beam, that totally encloses the chaise lounge so NO sun gets in and you CANNOT see to the left at all!!! only view is straight out!!! and that room is an UPGRADE!!!!! Huge balcony with 2 lounges, 2 chairs & a table, great view of wake, quiet location, no hallway traffic, plenty of storage, no flat screen TV but decent picture on tube, long walk to stairs or elevator (that's good, we need the exercise on cruises) Read entire member review >>
I am glad this section is here. I was in stateroom 1590 which was classified as a Superior Balcony stateroom. Because this was on deck ten, the so called "executive" one--- all the large suites were here, there were two Superior Balcony Cabins side by side nestled in between two suites; mine was one of them. This cabin that I was in had 50 extra foot of square feet than regular balcony cabins and it was quite lovely. It was clean, the decor nice, and right below the Windjammer cafe so getting to my food was just one flight of stairs away:)
However, to my dismay and here is a caution to those who may want Deck 10--there is no sound barrier between the Windjammer Cafe and the cabins below. Going to sleep was not so bad as it was just minor cleaning but I think my room must have been directly below a kitchen portion because on the dot, 5am each morning pans being dropped, carts being pushed around, things being hauled across the floor started. Luckily for me, my normal rising time is 5:30am anyway so it was not too bad, but, if you are one who likes to stay up later and sleep in a bit later, it will be impossible to do in this cabin. We were in room 5174 on deck 10. I like the D2 class of balcony rooms since it is a little bit bigger. The closets were much bigger than the other ships we have experienced...Thank You. One request would be to make the D2 bathrooms about 1-2 foot larger. Loved the Jewel of the Seas rooms!! Read entire member review >>
I think the room has lots of storage. The balcony was fine. I don't need a hugh one....we only sit out there. Our room was 9580, but I did not want to share it in the review. It was very quite, but that could be due to the lack of children on board. Read entire member review >>
Stateroom 9636 - excellent view from balcony bathroom rather small - enough room and comfort for two adults and that's about it. Beds were extremely comfortable with awesome sheets and blankets Read entire member review >>
This cabin is in the middle of the aft on deck 8. There are other aft cabins directly above and below it on 7 an 9. It is at the end of the hallway, but the door cannot be seen in the hall, it is around the corner on a short aft hallway with only 3 cabins, so it gets very little foot traffic in the hall. We heard no hallway, or service noise in this location. The cabin did have a lot of vibration noise when backing into a dock due to the aft thrusters, and on our cruise we arrived at ports early and this did wake me, but did not last long.
It has a phenomenal view and huge over sized balcony. It had 2 lounge chairs and 2 chairs and a small, short table. The cabin is considered D2; The set up is exactly the same as 8170 inside,(our family members had this cabin) but the balcony of 8170 is ever so slightly tapered on port side and slightly smaller (not even noticeably so) than 8672.
Inside this cabin has loads of storage; its all bilateral (sets of drawers on either side of the vanity and two sides of the closet) which makes it easy to share. Read entire member review >>
Jewel of the Seas Cabin# 8598 - On the "kick-out" amid ship tending to face aft. Lack of wind made balcony usable at all times. Cabin was a bit shorter than some others with couch being much smaller. Best feature....very private, quiet area of the ship. Virtually no engine vibration. Central location in Centrum great for getting around the ship. Read entire member review >>
Stateroom 9070 w/ private balcony was spacious, clean, and lovely. We loved being on the balcony when we could. Only complaint is that you're always vulnerable to noisy neighbors on adjoining balconies, which tended to keep us off ours. We won't book a private balcony stateroom again for this reason. Just not worth the extra cost Read entire member review >>
1102. Good storage. Tiny bathroom but at least there was a shower door, not a shower curtain. HUGE balcony. Great view of wake. Relatively quiet. Comfy bed. A haul from the cabin to the stairs/elevator. Read entire member review >>
Big aft facing balcony that is partially covered. The balcony has two loungers, two chairs and a table. The cabin has a full size (non convertible) sofa. Desk and vanity, PIN-based safe, closet, TV, quiet location at the back of the ship, faint noise at night from the night club below, sliding shower doors. Read entire member review >>
Bathrooms could be a bit larger. Storage space was sufficient, and access to elevators and stairs was quite easy. Smoking is not allowed in cabins - thank you. Treat your cabin steward correctly and there is no limit to what he or she will do for you. Get to know them. Read entire member review >>
Great cabin, lots of storage. The balcony is a strange shape but it worked for us. We hung up a clothes line and it was out of our way. We were over the Safari club but only heard music one night but we didn't mind it because it was early and we weren't staying in the room. Very quiet location. Read entire member review >>
Shower is the size of a vertical time capsule, don't drop your soap or you will have to open the shower doors and step out into the bathroom (or perhaps even the hallway) to pick it up. Read entire member review >>
9058 - Spacious, big comfortable bed, good bathroom. Great views from balcony but overhang from floor of deck 11 meant sun disappeared for us a bit sooner than for some others. I would choose a cabin more for'ard next time (but would be quite happy to go with this one again if I had to). No noise from ship/common areas. Read entire member review >>
The cabin was its normal standard, nice and clean and a bed to die for, always the best sleep on board. A nice balcony with good views forward and the beam however slightly blocked aft due to the shape of the balcony. It still has the crt tv (we are used to a flat screen now). No tea or coffee making gear! and no ice bucket unless you asked for it. The shower was ok for size. With a wardrobe ok for the two of us for the 12 nights and eight small draws to use, we had enough space for all of our bits and pieces, however if you used the other bed I am not sure if there is enough space. Cabin was a reasonable size with a good balcony, bed very comfortable with a good selection of pillows, bathroom compact but functional, TV had very few channels which were continually repeated, pay-per-view movies $12.95 with a good choice, cleaner a bit workshy! Would not recommend because of the overhead noise from very early hours Read entire member review >>
