Great ship, great crew, lousy company
"The on-board tour staff were unable to act without contacting head office, who simply ignored the problems and made little effort to address the very valid complaints of the passengers. The company made no effort to understand the reason for their shortcomings, and no apparent effort to correct their mistakes...."Read More

World Cruise 2023 Disaster

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Insignia

I chose this cruise for the itinerary. The experience was 0 stars. 1. Free WIFI was mostly no WIFI, when it was available it was agonizingly slow and kept disconnecting, allowed one device per cabin. IT was totally not interested in solving connection issues. Movies were not updated for 6 months. 2. Brown congealed lettuce was served in the salad bars, hot food not hot, cold food not ...

A Luxury Cruise Line That Is Not As Good As Most Premium Cruise Lines

We had not cruised for several years (pandemic and health issues) and were really excited to try a luxury cruise line. All of our previous 20 or so cruises have been with Premium cruise lines. We should have tried a short Oceania cruise before committing to a World Cruise so the fact that we were so disappointed was our fault entirely. On the positive side, the ship size was perfect. We were able ...

NOTE: We were only on the first segment from Miami to San Francisco. The following review is intended to provide helpful information to those considering cruising on the Oceania Insignia. Please remember that this is only one person’s opinion and may not reflect your view or the opinions of others. I will be providing a grade for each of the ship’s various services along with an explanation of ...

We booked this cruise for 2021 and it was cancelled, so we rebooked for 2022. A couple of weeks before sailing I found a review on this site from a couple who sailed in July in the very same cabin we had reserved (8023). I must admit I was rather concerned when I read their litany of complaints:- Dirty, wear and tear, aged, A/C not good, shower not good etc. However the cabin was a total contrast ...

This was the maiden voyage for this crew following the long Covid-induced hiatus and it was clear to us that this ship and crew was not ready. BIg things and small were problematic. We can start with our return flights which were changed without consultation or notification. I discovered the change when I reviewed the embarkation package. Then Oceania insisted that it was a schedule change ...

REVIEW OF "GATEWAY TO SUNSHINE” CRUISE" We just returned from the Oceania “Gateway to Sunshine” sixteen-day cruise that started in Miami on December 21st, 2021. It would be a vast understatement to say our experience with this cruise was disappointing. We booked this cruise in late August primarily because of the impressive number of destinations it offered: Miami; Georgetown, Grand ...

Having not cruised for almost 2 years we decided to book 2 cruises for the last part of 2021. The first cruise on the celebrity Apex from Athens to Miami went well. We had to wear masks most of the time and tours were mostly on Celebrity controlled tours. All passengers and crew were vaccinated, and they tested us several times during the cruise. The ship made all the schedule ports, and the ...

Worst Cruise We Have Ever Experienced

Normally, we have had no issues or problems with Oceania, but this cruise was different. First, the cruise itinerary was changed three days before we travelled canceling a place we wanted to go. Then four days into the cruise, the itinerary was change again dropping two countries and three ports from the cruise entirely. There was no compensation offered and we had 8 days at sea on a 16 day ...

Oceania cruises are great for couples (nothing interesting for children or singles) This cruise was from San Franciso to Santiago Chile, i.e. a 22-day section of a world cruise. In addition to embarkation and debarkation, we visited these ports: Santa Barbara and San Diego in USA; Cabo, Ixtapa, Acapulco and Puerto Chapas in Mexico; Puerto Quetzel in Gautemala, Acajutla in El Salvador; Manta ...

I am a veteran of cruising, and have been on Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, Viking and Carnival numerous times. For the extra money paid for an Oceania cruise, I really expected more. I wanted the Panama Canal, full transit itinerary, and when we booked, Oceania was the only one going all the way through. I must say, the crew and service was fantastic. Because the gratuity was included, I did ...
