Holland America, the Westerdam and her crew were excellent. This was my first time on Holland America and I would sail on her ships anytime.

We chose this cruise due to the date (over Labor Day), itinerary (Glacier Bay and Inside Passage), smaller ship with lots of outdoor space and enclosed pool, and cost. We were able to get the Pinnace suite for less than what a NCL Haven suite on the Bliss would have cost.

Noordam was a great choice for us. The size and number of people made getting around the ship easy. Staff were very pleasant and always helpful. We chose HAL Westerdam because we wanted to see Glacier Bay on our first trip to Alaska (and our first cruise!). We actually went against the advice of our travel agent who thought we would be happier with a luxury line even though they don't stop at Glacier Bay. I traveled with my husband, my mother & her 65 year old friend.. My husband and me are in are early 40’s and my is in her mid 70’s.
