Review for a Arctic Cruise on Zuiderdam

We had a great cabin - aft, veranda - that we loved. No diesel, smoke/ash and little noise from Lido above. Great views, tiny sitting area. We chose to take meclizine, starting the night before our cruise. This was the most sea we've seen on any cruise (still topped out at 2+ meters - 7-8 foot swells) and were both fine. I had anxiety but no actual motion sickness. There was an outbreak of ...

Disappointing

The port is about 2 hours from Venice. The cruise port of Trieste is stressful in that the Luggage Check-in is a distance from where the guest goes up a winding flight of stairs to Embarkation check -in. To make matters worse the check-in time it took for luggage was 80 minutes in the broiling sun. The port is not equipped at this time to be very guest/passenger friendly. I made the mistake of ...

My lifelong dream was to visit Venice. I selected this itinerary as it included an extra night in Trieste with excursions to Venice. Ships can no longer port in Venice and if you plan to visit, you will have a longer commute. It is what it is. I did not purchase travel insurance, but did use HAL "Flight-Ease" to book my flights as they will accommodate any disruptions in travel. I also ...

We chose this cruise because our local AAA office hosted a Holland America‘s presentation. One of the benefits they claim of booking with Holland America was that they were the only ship that actually docked at port, without having to tender passengers to land. This was actually not true, many other cruise ships were able to dock without tendering their passengers. My first negative experience ...

Alaska Cruise was a Tourist Trap

I chose this cruise as an anniversary gift to us both. We wanted a more quiet, adult cruise. Less children. Smaller more quaint ship. The Eurodam gave us much of that. Neither of us had ever been on a cruise. I thought seeing Alaska, the glaciers and wildlife would be nice. I can tell you that our cabin suite was marvelous. Spacious. Beautiful. King bed. I'm 6'5". Cleaned every day. The shower was ...

Our 1st time on a cruise. Not real impressed with the physical condition of the ship. It supposedly was remodeled or updated in 2015 but it doesn’t show it! Many places & common areas smell bad~like urine & old sour mop water! The pool towels and third viewing deck blankets smell like mildew ALL OF THEM EVEN AFTER MENTIONING TO GUEST SVS.! I constantly held my nose navigating from one floor ...

We prefer a Holland America cruise ships because they cater more towards adults and not children. They don’t have any many activities for children like some of the other cruise lines do. The crew and staff on every Holland America ship I have ever been on are just wonderful They take care of the customers very well. The food I Holland America cruises is the best I have ever had. For the first ...

There is no BB King blues or Lincoln theater. There’s a rolling stone lounge and a billboard area. The world stage is pretty with truly locally choreographed entertainment. If you enjoy educational seminars along with a few sprinkled activities. If you are looking for quiet and bored. This is your cruise. We loved the thermal spa. The specialty steak house was a disaster as it took 2.5 hours and I ...

Our first cruise. A wonderful birthday gift from friends. We explored the ship from front to back and up and down. She is a beautiful ship and we were most impressed by the cleanliness of all areas. Our two areas where we visited and ate were the Lido deck and the Dining Room with a visit to grab a burger, pizza, and some well dressed hot dogs. All good to excellant quality. We visited the ...
