Alaska in the Neptune

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Westerdam

We didn't want to leave the ship!! We got spoiled really fast with an upgrade to a Neptune Suite. The room provides access to the Neptune Lounge which has seating areas for watching TV, reading, or conversing, a table for playing cards/games, and serves snacks all day, as well as coffee, tea, and juice. There is also a dedicated concierge desk staffed by the most helpful individuals. Sandy ...

Embarkation and Disembarkation process was very smooth. We arrived at Seattle pier 91 at around 12pm and able to get into our room within 45 mins. Luggage arrived within an hour. Our group were scheduled to leave our room at 9:30am and by 9:50am, we were already got all the way out to get into our ride. Very efficient. Spa: We purchased the unlimited thermal suite and hydro pool pass and ...

Holland Westerdam Alaska

Staff- friendly, accommodating and smiling. Neptune Suite- worth the money for the space-bed is comfortable- needs updating, countertops/tub/shower cracked. Ship is dated and smells- lack of staff cleaning regularly in common areas until gastrointestinal virus hit the ship. Then procedures were put in place to keep all guests from being infected. More cleaning, servers at all food and drink ...

Holland America - False promises and lies of amenities that are not provided

We chose this cruise as it was the last one of the year, which we knew would not have a lot of children, which we had heard monopolized the pool area during summer cruises. This was our first cruise and Holland America completely screwed us up. We were "given" several amenities, for which we had the confirmation paperwork with us. Upon trying to dine at the Pinnacle Grill on the 1st night, we ...

Great Trip on the Westerdam

Our second time on Holland America to Alaska. Chose to cruise from Seattle on the Westerdam. It was absolutely fabulous. The ship was spotless, and everywhere you went there was someone cleaning or polishing. We had an inside cabin, which was quite adequate for a week, and the stewards kept the cabin in great order. The ship never felt crowded, we always found somewhere quiet to sit. We only ate ...

Another great experience on HAL

We just got back from a 7 day cruise on the Westerdam, R/T from Seattle. I can not say enough about how great it was. This was our 3rd cruise on HAL and it did not disappoint. The room was spacious, lots of storage and our stewards kept it immaculate. There was bad weather predicted in Sitka, and the Captain was good about keeping us advised. We had to skip Sitka but had full days in ...

The food and service is unsurpassed.

I had never been to Alaska and always wanted to go. This was a good opportunity at the right time. The restaurants are very comfortable, the food is terrific, and the service could not be better. One of the things that I really liked was the ability to walk around the ship on deck 3. During the week-long cruise, I managed to walk about 45 miles and returned home without gaining any ...

A Must Do Cruise!

My husband and I are first time cruisers in our late 50's. We selected HAL because we wanted a smaller ship/fewer people. I believe there were 1900 passengers on this trip. I understand the total capacity of the Westerdam is about 2400 passengers if every bed is filled. I did a lot of research because I like to know what to expect. I read many reviews on this cruise line, destination and ...

A problem with Jewelry purchased and customer relations won't reply

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Westerdam

I purchased jewellery on board, and was given a certificate for 2 years, and it was dated 2015 instead of 2016. I sent it back to be corrected and have had no reply. When I got the jewelry valued in my country there was a huge gap and I had paid much more than would be reasonable. No one from that company will reply to my emails or letters. The jewellry on shore was much more affordable, ...

Wonderful cruise to a beautiful part of the world!

Overall this was a wonderful trip! The Westerdam was a lovely ship and the scenery in Alaska is breathtaking! I can see why many people repeat Alaska many times over. We were also truly impressed with Seattle. Prior to this trip, we had never been further north on the west coast than San Francisco. What a wonderful town Seattle is and it warrants an extra few days if you can spare them. The ...
