Mostly good but some bad

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Eurodam

This was our 41st cruise and 10th on HAL. The ship is only about 10 years old and is very nice and well kept-up being quite clean comfortable and smooth sailing. Our only disappointment was the food in the main dining room... the selections left much to be desired, food arrived barely warm and the meat (steak and prime rib) was never cooked as ordered (either too rare or too done), Service in ...

Wonderful Cruise to Hawaii

DINING: We ate in the main dining room every night but one. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding! My husband was a huge fan of the french onion soup. We ate at the Pinnacle Grill one night and were disappointed. The food was okay (we both had crab legs) but it took a little over three hours for the meal and we never did get one of our sides. We cancelled a second reservation ...

Holland is definitely not what it use to be

We chose this cruise because it's round trip out of San Diego and was a very good price. We did this same cruise 2 years ago on The Westerdam. The main differences are: veranda cabins smaller, less sea day activities, no library, no samples for the food demonstrations and less staff in Lido. Also on The Westerdam for dinner you had appetizer, soup or salad, main course and dessert. Now ...

Terrible food of lowest quality, servers untrained, waitstaff untrained, entertainment poor to non--existent! officers just apologized for staff....big deal....don't waste your money here! shore excursion extremely overpriced! hardly any vegetables offered, fruit cocktails were canned, apples were soft and brown, oranges were of the tasteless type. twice i didn't get served any breakfast in ...

Wonderful Itinerary- inconsistent service

This was my first cruise with HAL after cruising Celebrity for my last 5 cruises. I chose the cruise for the itinerary- I have always wanted to go to Hawaii and the idea of so many sea days was very attractive. Embarkation in San Diego went smoothly- I arrived at the port around 10:30 and was on the ship by noon. I appreciated being able to go directly to my cabin to drop off my carry-ons ...

Ship is beautiful and room lovely. BUT WE WILL NO LONGER SAIL ON HAL. As 4 star mariner we always chose to sail Holland because of ports, dancing in Ocean bar and Crows nest during happy hour and before and after the show Loved the wonderful shows and lots activities. There were dance lessons, keroke, games, lectures and more. BuT IT NOT NOW. Just finished an 18 day cruise. Lectures still ...

In one word, underwhelming

I only chose this cruise because it left from my home town so no planes or hotels required. It was something I wanted to try ever since we moved to San Diego in 2015. Husband didn't want to go so a friend went instead. I had been on one HAL cruise a few years ago, and several other cruises before that over the years. My mom had cruised extensively and was a 4 star Mariner. I went on her last ...

New to the Eurodam but many HAL cruises

This was my first time on the Eurodam but I am a veteran 3 star HAL cruiser. I liked the additional amenities available especially the Tamarind restaurant. I ate there two nights as well as once at the Canaletto and one dinner and two lunches at the Pinnacle Grill. The main dining room service was slow and uneven, especially at breakfast. the Lido food is good but I don't like the crowds and ...

Holland America Eurodam Depressing Place to Vacay

Holland America provided the very worst guest experience of any cruise line we have sailed with (Carnival, Celebrity and Princess). There is something strange going on with the Eurodam's management. We can't quite put our fingers on it, but the onboard staff are indifferent and disconnected. They are mostly flat and expressionless. With rare exception (the lovely married couple on the Ocean ...

The Non Mexican Riviera Mexican Riviera Cruise!

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Eurodam

We love going to the Mexican Riviera and when we found we would be in Pasadena for our son's show there (we live in Northern California), we asked our travel agent to find us a cruise leaving out of a port down there on a Sunday to the Mexican Riviera. (We love the shopping in Mazatlan!). So, we booked a cruise on the Eurodam starting October 21 out of San Diego. We even booked a San Diego hotel ...
