My parents have cruised on HAL several times and my mother booked us for a mother/daughter trip the first of January. She spoke well of the line and maybe I set my sights too highly considering I normally cruise with Carnival because I take my kids and we can easily drive to several ports. Good:
- Housekeeping services. Cordial and kept the room clean and neat. Every time we came back to the room, the bed was made. Every evening they left a nice towel animal.
- Ice cream. The ice cream staff is very friendly, and they offer a good selection of ice creams and toppings.

Let me preface this by telling you that my husband and I have been on several Holland America cruises in the past, including another on the Eurodam several years ago that was quite satisfactory. We had traveled on the Eurodam years ago and have always found Holland to be our preferred line. This is no longer the case. The ship crew numbers continue to shrink and the premium perks just keep disappearing. This is no longer the HAL or the Eurodam were once fell in love with.

This FAB cruise by Delbert MClinton's 24th Sandy Beaches Cruise was considered by most, the best vacation of their lives.
