I just returned from a 7-night Eastern Caribbean cruise on Eurodam. Bottom line: this was one of my favorite cruises ever. Service was excellent across the board, HAL's ships give me all the amenities I care about, and my fellow passengers were very friendly. Weather was outstanding.
First me: I'm a 50-year-old single guy, a “confirmed bachelor” if you will. I work for a municipality, so I'm ...
Good food both in Dining Room & Lido Buffet area. Truly enjoyed the Canaletto and the dining hit of the entire cruise was the Tamarind -Great Lobster - Good Beef tenderloin & a fantastic server name Santi. Also a callout to our Wine Steward, Joel.
Enjoyed the ship décor and open spaces to move about. Plenty of areas to hang out both inside and outside. Overall a very pleasant ship & great crew. ...
This review is not just my opinion, but also the observations of the other four people I was traveling with. First, this ship needs a major update. The carpet in one of our rooms was so worn, it looked like two different rug patterns. There are no message lights on the phones to let you know when you have one. Other than the main theater, all the entertainment venues are too small for the ...
My husband had vacation days left, and a cruise required less planning than other options. The itinerary included Panama (on our bucket list), Cartagena and other ports we had never been to, so we booked this only 6 weeks prior to sailing. We flew into Fort Lauderdale the day before, used UBER ($8) to get to the Embassy Suites, which was an older hotel, but clean, and we enjoyed the free ...
Embarkation was a bit rocky because of having to switch wheelchairs. One is used in the terminal for check-in and is then replaced by another for boarding the ship. However, we got onboard in time to go to lunch in the Main Dining Room, which is much superior to going to the boisterous buffet on embarkation day. We immediately ordered Bloody Marys! Every Bloody Mary on Holland America Line is ...
This was my second time on the Eurodam, the first being back in January of 2010. It was interesting to see how the ship has evolved since then. I cruised solo this time and found the Eurodam well suited for the purpose.
Embarkation and debarkation. Not much to say about it. This was my 6th HAL cruise and every time getting on and off the ship has been swift and painless. I really wish HAL ...
Eurodam Review
My wife and I decided we needed a little break before the Christmas rush and the Eurodam was our ship of choice this time. We had previously sailed on this ship seven years ago and I was curious to see what has changed onboard in that time.
We are avid cruisers with 20+ cruises under our belt and now six on Holland America. The good things first: I love the general layout of ...
This was our first cruise with Holland America. We had cabin 5089, our first time with a balcony. The cabin was nice, lots of storage and plenty of room to hang clothes. We were located midship, so it was very convenient getting around. The ship was done in mostly earth tones, nothing garish. We liked the size of the ship, very easy to manage, and no huge crowds.
We arrived at the port at ...
I did enjoy the ship and the personnel. I did not like the food - not hot and the variety was lacking for someone that does eat seafood/fish. I was also not happy with spending 2.5 hours in the MDR .... way to long for dinner. Also I was surprised they didn't have more activities during the day and live music around the pool areas. I loved the spaciness of the shower and having movies on the ...
This allowed us to visit 7 countries in a convenient and reasonably priced option. The Holland American line is structure for a Senior age group. Took a cruise on Carnival with grandchildren, which would be a better option fir youngsters.
They did not have many of the features that Carnival has for young children, such as water slides, Dr. Suess, etc.
The entertainment was very good for ...
