Well you have heard it before, reading all those negative reviews and then discovering that they were not even closely accurate. This will be the case with this ship. The ship is in very good to excellent condition- cannot understand at all what others are seeing in their overly negative reviews.
The food is very good to excellent- the best dining room food we have ever had at sea, and I have ...
Have sailed many time with Holland America and are 4 star martiners. The embarkation and disembarkation was very smooth. We where able to go right to our cabin. Over the past few years we have noticed that the food in the main dinning room seems to be going down some. My husband and some others at our table ordered the steak (the one that is always on the menu) and all stated the same thing, ...
Chose this cruise because of the ports the cruise was going to (Iceland, Greenland, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia). The ship especially the cabin we had was very outdated. But, it was in good repair. Service and quality of staff varied from very good to poor. Many of the staff were hampered by their lack of English comprehension. They apparently got things wrong simply because of their lack of English ...
This cruise well as it turned out two cruises back to back the Baltics and the transatlantic covered many locations so see cities we had not been too and in the case of Greenland never likely to visit unless by ship and the beauty of getting there included a whole day cruising Price Christian Sund.
All,went extremely well with great weather and smooth seas except for two days but still not ...
We were on this ship for 12 days and thankfully only two sea days. We toured the Baltics We noticed that windows throughout the ship had cracks, tile in the Lido Dining Room floor was lifting when people stood on the tile waiting to be served from the food line. The grout in the floor tile looked dirty. The dining room tables in the Lido was cracked and peeling. Also, furniture in the lobby ...
The Baltic Sea cruise was our first cruise ever. This was my 75th birthday (March), my wife' 60th in August and the 15th anniversary of our meeting in 2002: three good reasons to celebrate. We choose HL for its reputation for excellence, it's fine cuisine, its outstanding service and the quality of its ship. We did not regret our choice for one second. We choose Neptune suite 7070 on Rotterdam ...
We wanted to see northern Europe and we got a great deal on this cruise. We had many perks, too, like the Pinnacle Grill (beyond excellent), classic drink package, a balcony room and lots of onboard credits. The room valets we had in room 7114 (Excellent Balcony Cabin) were very, very good. Ice in the room nightly, cute towel art pieces and friendly smiles everyday. Our dining stewards were a ...
We chose this cruise because we prefer traveling with HAL and it was a planned destination.
The food and cabin were clearly HAL worthy but the on-board activities and excursions on this ship were a disappointment. The cabin steward, table steward, and wine steward were all excellent. The food was prepared well and the presentation was great. If any complaint it is that they didn't keep the ...
Missus Charlie and I just returned from the Northern Isles cruise. We upgraded during the last pre-cruise week from guaranteed Veranda to Neptune class stateroom 7052.
The crew was exceptionally friendly and attentive. Particular plaudits to the Culinary Center, Pinnacle Grill, and Ocean and Explorer staffs.
The entertainment was as expected. The on-board troupe occasionally appears to ...
We chose this itinerary because it offered us 5 days in Iceland. We also enjoyed 2 days in Norway and 2 in Scotland.
The Ship was a little dated, however the service was great.
Our stateroom (Neptune Suite) was spacious and well-appointed. We had access to the Neptune lounge, which provided food all day and an excellent concierge (Mae, you were great).
The Spa was excellent and we ...
