Cabin was sufficient for my wife and I. It didn't have a refrigerator which we really like. Our room steward was able to find us one which was great. As usual the window was usually coated in salt spray so couldn't see very clearly out of it. I wish the window was cleaned on a daily basis so we could enjoy the view. Room steward did a satisfactory job. Read entire member review >>
Cabin was clean and nicely laid out. We had sufficient storage for two adults and we found the location to be quiet and convenient. Our only complaint was that we consistently smelled cigarette smoke in the cabin. Our room attendant said it came from the vents and he gave us an air freshener to try and help. Bottom line - DO NOT BOOK THIS ROOM IF SMOKE BOTHERS YOU. It was very strong at times. Read entire member review >>
We quite liked our cabin! Its not especially big, but we didn't feel claustrophobic. We thought the bed was comfortable, and it has a nice big window. The bathroom is small, but thats to be expected on a smaller cruise ship. It was very quiet, the only noise we got was from the anchor on CocoCay. The Theater is above the stateroom, so its not noisy at all. Our attendant was great. There is plenty of space for storage, and a nice-sized safe too. If we cruise on this ship again we'd happily take this stateroom. Read entire member review >>
Compact Room, Lots of storage. Close to Centrum and easy to get to dining and shows. Chose an ocean-view as cold weather part of cruise eliminated our preference for a balcony. Read entire member review >>
Cabin was small but just enough for both my husband and I. The bed was A number one comfy! The shower was small but that was expected. Water pressure in shower was awesome and temperature good at all times. We even had a little loveseat in our room. Big closet too and makeup table with lighting, nice touch. Older cabin at the stern of the ship (the cabins in the newer section are obviously better). It is under the dining room and on the last night of the trip the noise from above kept us awake most of the night as preparations were being made to arrive at port. Read entire member review >>
Guest Review of Grandeur of the Seas Cabin 4574Cabin Score : 92out of 100 Cruise Date:2/13/2015 Review Submitted:2/28/2015 Passengers in Cabin:2 Passengers Past Cruise Experience:2nd CruiseCruise Length:8 nights Overall Room Condition Impressions There is a little bit of wear and tear, but, it is in generally good shape .Naturally when you walk into the cabin it seems smaller than what was seen in brochure but it soon becomes home.Would You Book This Same Cabin Again? Absolutely! It's a great cabin. Noise In Cabin A little noise in the cabin -- you didn't notice it if you were not paying attention .Cabin right next to Centrum where entertainment was provided all entertainment was over by 11pm the latest 11.30 on one occasion but not a problem. Never slept so well. Even after noon siestas. Could hear music if you paid attention. Often hear one of my favourites playing not realising they were on stage and was able to just pop out and occasionally left door slightly ajar and relaxed in cabin listening. Cabin Odour No noticable Odours Well I always take a room freshener with me to add a bit of freshness and feeling of home..but our room attendant kept cabin spotless Temperature Control in Cabin The temperature controls were VERY effective and you could easily maintain temperature . Just as well as very cold on fist night at sea and last night. WiFi Signal Strength in Cabin 4574 I'm on vacation -- the last thing I want to do is connect to WiFi. (I didn't test it…) Lighting The lighting is exceptional - the cabin was very thoughfully lit. Excellent lighting at vanity table perfect for applying make up. Bathroom Condition Spotless. Everything is in top shape and feels very clean View From The Cabin Very good view Lovely to be able to look outside and to have natural lighting. We would have found an inside cabin claustrophobic. Drawers, Clothes and Luggage Storage Excellent. I was able to find a place for everything in the drawers and closet. I didn't have to leave anything in my suitcase Technology, Comfort & Convenience Good. Appropriately sized, flat-panel TV Lounging Space Chair with a coffee or side table Additional Comments: I had mentioned when booking that I am not great at sea so this cabin was ideal centre ship. Just before leaving for our trip I looked up the cabin and when I saw where it was located I wondered about noise being an issue but didn't have to worry. Close to everything, Centrum, dining rooms, There were rough moments at sea and every one congregated in Centrum. People shaken about on upper decks and one person fell in shower due to rough seas. So couldn't have had a more suitable cabin. Read entire member review >>
Bathroom remodeled and very clean. Great hot shower. Weak flow in the hand basin, though. Plenty of room for 2 and we did bring a lot of luggage. First thing I did was put the snacks and drinks on the tray behind one of the mirrored vanity corner shelves. This freed up room on the surface of the vanity. I also brought a hanging shoe caddy, which I hook on the bathroom door and use for all sorts of small items and toiletries that tend to get misplaced. Stateroom attendant Humberto was attentive, efficient and unobtrusive. Room was quiet. I never did find anyone who could get my iPod to play through the TV's USB port. I could play my videos, but not any music. DH thought this room was small by his standards, but I found it OK. We usually get a balcony, but wanted to be near our friends. Room was nice. No problems except a broken closet door, and a stuck drawer. I wish the window had been clean ! The staff was wonderful !!! Very attentive without being obtrusive. At 5 am one morning it seemed that maintenance decided to fix and scrape something on deck 5 above us. The night before arrival back to Baltimore our room was freezing !! We turned the heat up to no avail, but there was an extra quilt under the bed. Location was wonderful ! Read entire member review >>
Be sure to get on deck 3 if you want the large window be cause deck 2 have two smaller windows. Our room was set up to maximize the floor space and felt very roomy. The bath has some of the hottest water and best water pressure. Yes the shower curtain will stick to your back side but who cares. Our steward, Omar, was the absolute best. Since we didn't have a refrigerator he made sure was had lots of ice, even iced our wine for us. Yes the corkage fee is gone but I didn't take the wine to the MDR, I think they will charge you then. The rooms on the ship were very dry, woke up and drank two glasses of water a night. Several nights we ran the shower on full hot to steam up the room, it helped a lot. We brought several car air fresheners to ensure no bath room smells. We put one on the bath room door and never had any problems in the room. Read entire member review >>
A bit small, but comfortable. Nowhere to store the cases, so they had to be put on the sofa. Nice and clean - tended 3 times a day. Bathroom small, but functional.
Bedlinen was divine. Read entire member review >>
Our outside cabin was the third deck. Depite being an older ship the cabin in our opinion was in great shape and had plenty of storage. Could of used more hangers though. The cabin included a small sofa and table. Yes the bathroom was small but the mirror vanity also had storage space as there was not much counter space. Shower was always hot and had good water pressure. Bed was comfortable and bedding was in excellent condition. Towels also in good condition. The cabin suited our needs very well but there was only two of us. Read entire member review >>
Plenty of storage room for two people. Two helpful comments: because it was an adjoining cabin it had a chair instead of a sofa (we only used it as a clothes rack anyways!), and our suitcases wouldn't fit under the bed like they have on most RCI ships. Read entire member review >>
