The 2010 Cruise Critic Editors' Picks Awards

The annual Cruise Critic Editors' Picks Awards honor the very best of cruising. Each year, the Cruise Critic editors draw on their collective cruise wisdom to select their picks of the best offerings from the world's top cruise lines. Some awards are decided easily, others are fiercely debated, but all are given much consideration to create a list which highlights those that offer the very best in each category.

Categories range from the "Best New Ship" to the "Best for Healthy Dining", and highlight the best of the big ships, as well as the best of the luxury and niche vessels. To keep pace with cruise trends and innovations, new awards are added and existing awards altered each year where necessary. In 2010, new awards include "Best Shore Excursions", "Best for Gamblers" and "Best for Kid-Free Travel". We compare like-for-like and don't put a big fun-packed family ship up against a luxury vessel, but all awards are equally prestigious.

Cruise Critic's sister site in the UK, CruiseCritic.co.uk, issues its own set of awards in order to reflect the categories and winners most relevant to a UK/European audience.
