I had heard such wonderful things about Disney cruises so wanted to give them a try. As far as cruise ships go, it was a nice ship, but not any more special than other cruise ships. The extras of Disney are the quality shows in the evening and the personal touch they give like the announcement when you board the ship. The negatives are that the pool is extremely small and the waterslides are just ...
OK. Coming out with anything but A++++ reviews of anything Disney can subject you to a backlash that makes coming out as a Trump supporter pale in comparison. We have many friends who are Disney addicts and have been on numerous DCL cruises as well as numerous annual trips to the parks. Yeah, we aren't "those" people. Don't get me wrong, we LOVE Disney, but it isn't like air and water is to life ...
6th DCL cruise but first with extended family. We had a group of 18 ranging from age 5-75 spread over 6 cabins. It was also a Star Wars cruise which appealed to some of the kids and adults in our group. Cabins (family oceanview (5) and one inside cabin) were all great. We had a table for 12 and one for 6 at dinner with awesome servers. Weather was warm but very windy for most of the trip. ...
Last year we sailed the Disney Dream and loved it. This year we decided to try the Disney Magic. The Magic is a smaller and older ship. It is showing some signs of wear, but overall is well maintained and clean. For what it's worth, we were told it is going into dry dock soon for some maintenance and updates.
As a smaller ship, it was really easy to get around. The midship elevators could get a ...
ALL the staff on the ship went above and beyond to be kind and help you. Our wait staff (Herman and Juan) were amazing. Herman entertained the children at our table with magic and went out of his way to take care for us. The food was amazing also. Our room steward was amazing!! I was so impressed that Disney requires you to wash hands before going into ANY eating place. You don't hear about Disney ...
I was invited at the last minute to join a friend. We had an inside cabin on deck 5. I usually sail balconies, so I was a bit weary.
Cabin was great, amenities great, Service second to none. Any issues that did arise were dealt with promptly most times. One thing I felt like on my recent cruises with the other lines (Celebrity mostly) was that I was a burden to the staff, the buffet area ...
I have only cruised with Disney - and my first one started off rocky... nothing to do with the boat, it was all in my head. I just didn't feel comfortable on the boat, was having trouble with the motion, didn't like the laundry list of side effects the motion sickness pills or patches or voodoo tricks I had at my disposal 'promised' and was adamant about getting off at our first stop and flying ...
I went on the cruise with my family to celebrate the life of our beloved dog Roxy because she passed away from cancer. We went on the Fantasy Star wars cruise it was awesome they had fireworks for Pirates night and then a Starwars fireworks for Starwars night. The service in the dining area was excellent and the steward was one of the best we have ever had. The food was good but the menu you could ...
We decided to take the kids and the grand kids on a Disney cruise. I was a little apprehensive about what to expect and how the little ones would react to the cruising experience. Not to worry, we all had a good time.
The Dream is a large ship and it is very nicely maintained. The cabin was spotless and the public spaces are well kept.
Disney has a good idea about rotational dining. We ate ...
This was our first cruise ever and our first Disney cruise. I had heard a lot of good things about DCL and had high expectations. Our only disappointment was that the weather wasn't as warm as I would have hoped, but that's out of our control. We arrived at port and waited to get through security and customs and get our key to the world cards for the ship. That whole process took maybe 30-45 ...
