Celebrating a 25-year wedding anniversary of friends. Check-in was slow and tedious. Personnel unable to properly read vaccination certificates (due to dates in UK and USA being written differently!).
Debarkation was an absolut disaster. They blamed it on the US Authorities. Not sure it's to be believed.
The dress code, although highly-touted, was neither applied nor enforced. Don't bother ...
First of all, I am a very experienced cruiser including very high end like Regent and more moderate lines like Celebrity. I was very excited to sail on Cunard as I had heard so much praise and accolades for the white star service, the food and the elegance of the ship. So my perspective is comparing to what I know of other lines.
First of all, the good. Hands down, the cocktails are the ...
Background
We are in our early 60's, still in work and with the exception of a couple of common health issues that are well controlled, we are very mobile. We enjoy all manner of holidays including but not limited to villa holidays, city breaks and cruises (with the very occasional camping trip thrown in) We tend to go with the flow, we don't feel we are demanding or high maintenance and ...
A trip on Cunard had been on my bucket list for some time, after recently losing a couple of close friends way to early in their lives we decided it was time to start to realise some of our dreams before it was too late. As DH was very apprehensive about Cunard being too 'posh' and 'stuffy' we decide on short 7nt cruise on QV to the Fjords (QV221) long enough to warrant the long slog down south to ...
We arrived at about 2pm ready for our boarding time of 2.15. It was a very smooth embarkation and we were on board by 2.30.
To say the ship has just had a refit, I noticed some of the carpets needed to be replaced. Other than that everything seems to be up to the usual standard.
It was nice to see that most of the facilities were open again.
The service in all of the bars and the ...
We have done more than 30 cruises with Cunard which has always been our first choice for cruising until now! We chose this cruise for the itinerary, including the scenic cruise through the Mull of Kintyre which was truly spectacular and a plus.
Overall the cruise was a big disappointment primarily because the standard of service was not ‘White Star’. In the Princess Grill restaurant, the ...
Getting away on what we thought would be a restful and peaceful cruise across the Atlantic was anything but that, and we will never sail with Cunard again. Entering the terminal and boarding the ship was about the only positive part, although as we masked up from that first minute we wondered about Covid on the ship. Turns out we should have wondered as the ship was ripe with Covid ...
We chose this cruise because it is different than any other cruise, it is a crossing on an ocean liner. My daughter and I loved going to tea in the afternoon, sitting out by the pool at the back of the ship, and all the historic photos on board. Having a planetarium is a unique feature for a cruise ship and we attended several times. The late night "snack" is fabulous and is really another ...
Why so many complaints? If you don’t want to see any signs of rust and wear, go on a brand new cruise ship! This ship is 18 years old and they were constantly painting and repairing everywhere during our cruise. Many of the areas have new carpet, new furniture and the ship was spotless in all the bathrooms, common areas and restaurants.
I think some cruisers got a little spoiled pre-pandemic ...
Hello all, although we are only returned from our trip a couple of days and still catching up on life, I thought I should get something on the boards based on the recent conversation about no comments from Britannia passengers.
A short bit about us, husband and I are 62 and 57, retired, live in the Sarasota/Bradenton area of Florida. We take 4-6 international trips per year, and travel by ...
