All aspects of embarkation, room, public areas on board ship were excellent. The only thing that let the ship down was the extortionate charges for drinks and other amenities on board. In the first instance, the daily “service charge” for a couple is $23 per day (current exchange rate £1.27) which amounts to £18.11 x 14 night cruise amounts to £253.54. Then everything purchased on board is levied ...
We have done The Med before with Princess , but decided to do it again with Cunard and stay on for the following 2 cruises to Norway then The Balitc (all from/to Southampton).
Embarkation at Southampton was the quickest ever. Each time she returned to Southampton we were able to keep the same cabin and dining time and table which made things very easy for us.We were on board a total of 5 ...
Crossing the Atlantic on a grand ship has long been a dream of one of my frequent travel companions and using the QM2 as a way to get home from a trip to England (and thus skipping a much dreaded flight) was appealing to another. That the ship promised a luxurious passage certainly didn't lessen our excitement. We got on in Southampton ready to be transported in every way.
Embarkation was ...

We had thought about a back to back cruise and this was available, 14 days of luxury with a day shopping in New York.
Arrived at 12noon at the port. CPS let us unload our suitcases (5) and hand baggage, then removed the car. Portering took the luggage and we found it outside our stateroom. Great service by all the portering staff.
Delay of 1 hour in embarking, efficient processing of ...
It was when Queen Elizabeth was leaving her berth in Liverpool to sail across the Irish Sea to Dublin that I began to see that a cruise around the British Isles had not been such a bad idea after all. Until now I had steered clear. After all, why tour Britain when you live here?
The send-off we received was hugely emotional. Scousers lined the streets to watch and cheer as the ship let go her ...
If you’d like to cruise on the Baltic and visit some of its interesting ports, then a trip on the Queen Victoria may be just up your street.
The Queen Victoria is basically a floating 5 star hotel. Designed with more American taste in mind (you are in state rooms - not cabins) - but if you ignore this, it is a very pleasant way to spend two weeks aboard ship.
Like everything in life though, ...
Booked late deal outside cabin on Queen Elizabeth to Norwegian fjords. Cabin number 1107.
The cabin is located aft on deck 1 and suffers from continuous vibration problems from the engine room. The vibrations can even be felt when in bed and through the pillow.
A more annoying noise comes from a service duct which is located in the wall separating cabins 1107 and 1109. The duct carries away ...
DW and her sisters wanted to visit the Norwegian homeplace, near Trondheim, from which her grandparents emigrated to the US. We chose this Cunard itinerary and arranged for a Trondheim tour guide and bus through the Trondheim visitors bureau.
The QE is a beautiful ship. The only item that visibly needed refitting for her upcoming drydock in November is the love seat in our balcony cabin. The ...
