The pool areas are nice, and have retractable roofs in case it rains. It does get a bit hot when the roof is extended.

Very disappointing.

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Costa Smeralda

We were a family group of 10 people, ranging in ages 4 to 74. Costa brought cruising to a very low level indeed and left us with a bitter taste of rip-off. Please bear in mind that the older couple has been taking cruising vacations for 42 years, so are not green travellers. On a very basic level, Costa does NOT even provide a free glass of water - only at breakfast and lunch meal times - & ...

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

I am just now reading the reviews and ugh I have to say I agree with the bad ones. So... I was not going to write this review. I first contacted Costa via email with my post cruise concerns to see if they would address any of them and they did not, so hence the below. By the way, COSTA is a nightmare to reach. If you email them expect to wait a week at least for an answer. If you call them ...

BIG 60th Birthday

Review for a Europe - Western Mediterranean Cruise on Costa Diadema

First time cruisers, wife booked it for my birthday! I would like to firstly like to say a massive thank you to Kayleigh our English speaking rep onboard for making our cruise a memorable one and going the extra mile to help us! A really big thanks goes to all the crew and workers on the Diadema, they were brilliant! Admittedly the vessel is getting a bit old and tired but very clean and ...

First off, I think I owe the previous reviewers an apology! We sailed with Costa previously some years ago and felt very comfortable being English speakers and enjoyed spending time with our European counterparts, we felt that things couldn't be that different and perhaps it was just people not really used to being surrounded by the European Culture. However once boarding we soon realised that ...

The Good and the Bad!

I've sailed NCL, Princess and MSC. Like MSC, I didn't go with high expectations based on reviews. The trick is to go with low expectations and then you won't be disappointed! The truth is you can't pay Costa money and expect NCL quality. Value for money wise - I thought it was very good. Good points: Ship facilities (relatively new ship, clean throughout, nothing looked ...

Staff was kind and helpful, very clean. Cabin and corridors are cleaned daily. Restaurants on 5 and 9 floor was cleaned permanently. We were informed about everything by daily news. Very nice. Information desc was available all time. It was possible to eat 7 am - 10 pm. But in case of trip outside of ship, from 3,30 pm to dinner time, nothing to eat except cakes and bagetas. Nothing for ...

Let me start off by saying I am neither a complainer nor a pushover. I like to say things as they are and to hell with what the majority or otherwise might say. Nor am I a happy clapper willing to give out praise where it not due. That out of the way, let me proceed. As seasoned travellers myself and my wife have been most places in the world and often several times over. However, until now ...

Costa Cruise? Not again!

It's a pity I only read the reviews about Costa after I have booked its Mediterrean cruise. Turned out the negative reviews of most critics are true! Indifferent restaurant service, overcrowded and messy restaurant with mundane food, chaotic restaurant seating arrangement, below average night shows, confusing ship facilities layout, poor communication regarding embarkment & disembarkment etc., all ...

Horrible experience with Costa Diadema

Review for a Mediterranean Cruise on Costa Diadema

The story with Costa started badly from the beginning. It was our first cruise. When we were getting on the cruise, we were attended by a person who barked at us in an incomprehensible language and forbade us to enter because of a non-existent schedule problem. Behind him came an officer on board who, in very bad manners, let us reluctantly pass by the cruiser. On entering, we asked for the ...

Cruised out of Barcelona on March 20, 2017 with our 2 teenage daughters. We had two cabins next to each other. The ship is beautiful and very large. OUr cabins were on the lowest deck. It was by far the nicest ocean view cabin I have ever had on a cruise ship. Very large with 2 bathrooms. Ports of call were all very nice. Food was just average. Half the nights we ended up at the ...
