Embarkation was very disappointing. There was absolutely no system of boarding the ship. On board everything was Italian themed. Even the quizzing and bingo was in Italian. If you are sailing in international waters you need to make allowances for other passengers as well because not only are Italians travelling on your ship but other nationalities. First of all, the cruise was cheap. 8 nights in outside premium with 250 MB internet and drink package including both wine, beer, cocktails and special coffee and included gratitude (service) for 700 $ per person.
So expectations of course needs to be in relation to what paid.

It's a lovely ship and service, cleanliness and food are just alright. You shouldn't complain.
You may not like the food, but it is well cooked and in copious quantities.

We were due to sail on the new flagship Costa Smeralda but as it's launch was delayed our booking was cancelled. Went on Costa Fortuna for about 2 weeks (2 adults 2 children) just came back. We have great things to say about the staff in restaurants, buffet and room service. The food was good and catered for food allergies. Although that’s it for the positives the rest was terrible. Spa manager was very rude, not all the gym classes booked online are available on ship. I booked back to back cruises on Fortuna over Christmas. After reading some negative reviews, I was a bit wary but I loved all of the 2 weeks onboard. 2 weeks sailing from Singapore 17/12/19 to 30/12/19. Paid extra over Christmas (nearly $5000 AUD. And so it went as follows: Air conditioning not working in cabin.
