Hi all, we chose this cruise for 2 reasons, firstly the destination port, Amsterdam, Second it was close to home in Ireland,. great decision, the flowers at KEUKENHOF were spectacular .We traveled by Uber from North Palm Beach for embarkation, and anybody that was in this part of Florida knows that it bucketed down with rain that Sunday, most welcome after a long dry spell. The Silhouette is ...
We like the Transatlantic cruises with the multiple sea days. The ship is lovely and there always seemed to be places you could go and read quietly. The cabin was a good size with ample storage space. Our cabin attendant was very nice and helpful.
Eddy the Cruise Director was excellent and the Captain was wonderful. apparently he is well known for being involved with the passengers. He was ...
This was our third Transatlantic cruise, and about our fifth cruise on Celebrity, which we did and do still enjoy. I'm not going to address standard things here .. just things that stood out to us.
This ship has a strange architecture in that, rather than having three sets of elevators, it only has two, spaced to divide the ship into roughly thirds. The aft part of the ship, behind the aft ...
We have always been Celebrity fans and always book Aqua class for Blu restaurant. What a disappointment! Blu has cut service drastically. There simply are not enough servers for the clientelle. I believe there were only 2 sommeliers for the entire restaurant. Ours was great, but really kept running. Food was still plentiful, but the quality really declined. It was often overdone and just not ...
After swearing off US - Europe transatlantics (definitely prefer Europe - US), we booked this passage due to the unique ports - with the opportunity to spend some additional time in Amsterdam after the cruise. We had been on the Silhouette before, and were thrilled to discover that Captain Demitrios Kefetsis (sp) was once again the Master - as his personality, humor, and overall demeanor makes ...
Just did the Fort Lauderdale to Amsterdam crossing in a Concierge cabin as a solo cruiser. The cabin was just what I wanted deck 10 right on the stern so aft facing, perfect for lunch on a sunny day, although having a concierge didn't seem to add much to the experience. Free style dining worked well, the longest wait for a table (with a pager!) was 10 minutes. Food was good verging on the very ...
First the Good:
Service was excellent – cabin steward, waiters, etc.; - Entertainment was super – production show, entertainment staff, special guest entertainers : – Captain and hotel staff were excellent: -Food in main dinning room OK, Blu was OK but hard time making breakfast because of time changes – Specialty dinning were OK but not as good as on other Celebrity ships: – Casino staff was ...
Transatlantic cruise was really good. Many things to do each day. Problem with Captains Club was they gave you 3 tickets per day for a drink. The Sky Lounge was packed and you had to wait online to get in. The tickets were good from 5-7. If you had 6 pm dining, you rushed through one or two drinks and had to race to the other end of the ship for dinner. The other bars you could use the ...
Love the Silhouette. It's our favorite cruise ship to date.
All went well with boarding. We're familiar with the ship. Our first evening we decided to go to the Lawn Club Grill which is our favorite specialty restaurant. Food was great until halfway through the meal we were "treated" to loud very undinner like music. Asked to have it turned down, but were told they can't per Miami. We never ...
This was our third Transatlantic cruise on Celebrity. It was different this time. We had a Concierge class cabin, and the only difference between our cabin and my sister's (who had a regular balcony room) was we could get Canape's each afternoon. There was supposed to be upgraded shampoo, etc., and we both had the same type. The extra money we paid, wasn't really worth it.
Everything is for ...
