Review for a Alaska Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

I planned this cruise last October (2016) as an 80th Birthday Surprise Gift to my Mom. I specifically chose this cruise because of the roundtrip in/out of Seattle and the itinerary. As I had booked a suite, I knew my Mom would appreciate the beautiful balcony as she likes to rest and the extra time At Sea and Cruising the Fjords and Inside Passage would give her a great cabin experience! I picked ...

First Class - Even Better than Newer Celebrity Ship Experiences

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

This was a special cruise for my husband's 60th birthday year. Solstice met all our expectations and more. We've sailed on Reflection and Silhouette in the past, and although some of the amenities are different we found the staff, service and food on Solstice to excel the younger ships in the fleet. The Alaska experience was out of this world. Despite not being able to visit Skagway due to a ...

Embarkation was speedy. We arrived around 11 am and boarded in about 15 minutes. Debarkation was also speedy. We opted for dragging our own bags, since we had an early flight out of Sea-Tac. We were through customs as the first bags were being unloaded. We were out of the terminal by 7:30, in the (previously reserved) airport shuttle by 8, and at the airport by around 8:45. The ship is ...

An Alaskan cruise has been on my list for the past 5 years. I kept saying I want to go to Alaska but couldn't find a travel companion. Last November 2016, my sister in law called to tell me she booked on Celebrity Solstice to Alaska. I have heard for years Alaska is an old people's cruise, that is so far from the truth. This was my first time on Celebrity lines. The boat was fabulous. Easy ...

The cruise experience on the Celebrity Solstice was great overall! Cabin - see details below. Dining - dining was good. The food grade would be about a B in my opinion. They had lots of options, and different things every night. Good appetizer, main course, and dessert choices daily. The service was excellent, and the dining room is beautiful. We had lunch and breakfast in the main dining ...

We had friends who did this cruise and it was recommended highly by them. We enjoyed the informative talks before the land days. The captain did a fantastic job piloting through Tracey Arm and getting us up close to the glacier. We enjoyed our shore excursions in Ketchikan, Juneau, and Skagway. We booked with local vendors for private taxi tours in Ketchikan and Juneau and took the White ...

What a relaxing and enjoyable week we had on the Celebrity Solstice from Seattle to Alaska! Embarkation was the quickest and most hassle-free of any cruise we've ever had. There was a special lunch offered to Concierge class guests in the main dining room and we went right to it. Our cabin was ready shortly thereafter and our bags arrived in a timely manner. The ship is beautiful and nicely ...

Embarkation was as smooth and seamless as you can expect with that many people coming through. There were 2 ships boarding and directions were very clear and straight forward. The embarkation lunch for conceraige was delicious as was the triple chocolate cake provided when the waiter found out about my birthday. Our cabin was ready on time although we did have to go down and get new keys-was not ...

This was our second trip to Alaska, as we went 2 years ago on another cruise line. We went on Celebrity because it was recommended by friends who were originally going to be travelling with us. For the most part, it was very nice. The ship is beautiful and has a lot of really nice public areas. The Library and Game Room are nice touches, with comfortable tables and chairs. Both overlook the ...

Can't say enough good things Customer service (remember customer service?) Every crew member smiled and said Hello, I asked for ice tea and dinner one night, next night ice tea already on table, Some families, few younger ones on board, mostly couples, average age 50 or so. I did not buy drink package and did fine. Hair dryer and UMBRELLA in room. Bed and pillows like home. Attend programs ...
