We were an extended family with five cabins and ranging in ages from 23 months to retirement age. The Summit was well maintained and the décor was beautiful - understated elegance without snobbery. We were not bombarded with upselling which was very appreciated. The captain was very visible and accessible. We had a lot of OBC and therefore booked our excursions through Celebrity. They were ...
The mid-sized Celebrity Summit to the Southern Caribbean was clean, organized, and had many nice features such as great inside and outside seating areas, nice gym and spa. Our spa services were top notch. We would have done more services but they were booked. I would not pay extra for the relaxation room but Blu was worth the extra cost of Aqua Class to us.
We were supposed to get ...
We loved the ports of call especially Barbados, St. Martin and St. Thomas. We were in the suite class and had impeccable service throughout the cruise. The food selection was good and our favorite restaurant was Qsine. Would definitely book with Celebrity again and now that we've experienced the Suites I don't see us going back to a regular cabin. There is a restaurant that is only for suite class ...
We have loved Celebrity in the past, but things seem to be deteriorating from their high standards of operation. The Summit is needing renovations, especially the staterooms. From the bed skirts to the black grout and rusty areas in bathrooms and around the windows. As others have said, this ship is showing it's age (16 years) and needs to be in dry dock to correct some of these issues. My ...
We absolutely loved this cruise! We loved the destinations and could not have been more impressed with the crew and staff! Everyone made an effort to get to know you personally. Captain Kate also made the voyage fun by timing the sailing between ports so that you were pulling in to port while you were eating breakfast each morning. She would speed up the ship or slow it down depending on how ...
We are very disappointed with the vacation; the selection of food was horrible and left much to be desired. The food was really, really bad at the buffet. Other than the worn out and basic offerings like, pizza, fast food and sandwiches, there was only salad, pasta, chicken and lamb every day – no roast beef, prime rib, pork chops or ham on the bone or any other kind of quality beef..UGH! They did ...
We basically chose this cruise because of the itinerary and schedule. It was places we wanted to see and the date and costs worked for us.
We really enjoyed the size of the ship. We were located on Deck 3 in suite 3132 and it was a perfect location as most activities are located on Deck 4 or 5.
Overall the food was excellent. I was chose to participate in Top Chef at Sea and won dinner for ...
Embarkation was a breeze. Disembarkation was disappointing, we only had carry-ons, so we were rather surprised that we could only disembark at specified times. We have been able to depart at our convenience with carry-ons only on other cruise lines.
Ship/Cabin
For a ship just out of dry dock in March, the condition was a disappointment. Rust could be found on both our balcony in room 8041 ...
This was our 3rd cruise with Celebrity, and a total of 13 cruises. The only problem we had was on embarkation. We flew in to San Juan the day of the cruise, and got to the ship around 3:30 pm. Made it to the suite check in line to turn in paperwork, and was ready to board. The agent took us to a guy that was supposed help us. He was too busy, so he told us to just go to the 4th deck. Walked on to ...
Celebrity Summit to Southern Caribbean on November 5th 2016; this is the first cruise my wife and I have been on and I would never consider another cruise with Celebrity even if they paid me to go on it! My family and I felt very unwelcome on the boat from the moment we began to board and met the first rude employee who doesn't want to be there. The overall mood and experience on the boat is just ...
