Hit or Miss Food!

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Celebrity Summit

We are Celebrity fans, but this cruise was below standard. The food in the main dining area was quite variable. One night the entree was undercooked and cold, then next night over cooked and tasteless. Steaks were like shoe leather. Also, the Oceanview Cafe food was passable, but not terribly appetizing. We did not try the specialty restaurants since we had already paid for the food, and did ...

A new fan of Blu

We have traveled on Celebrity a dozen times but it was our first time in the Aqua class. The perk we enjoyed the most was the Blu restaurant. Each night we compared the menu at Blu with the menu at the main dining room. Without fail we chose the Blu menu. One night my wife and I ordered the escargot from the Dining room menu. They told us you could order anything that was on the DR menu and have ...

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Celebrity Summit

This was our first cruise with Celebrity. We have done about a dozen other cruises so we are not "rookies" and think we are relatively normal (62, married, retired). The embarkation/debarkation was quite simple with no long lines. We used Celebrity's shuttle to/from the airport with no problems. We had an ocean view stateroom (3026). Pretty typical room--small bathroom. The ship holds 2000, but ...

Perfect cruise for us!

We chose this cruise primarily because we got such a great deal on it with great perks. We convinced another couple to go with us & had a great time. If you're looking for perfection on a cruise then you may never find it. I've seen other reviews that seemed to nitpick at the smallest of things, like rust spots on their balcony & such. Guess what? Salt water does that. They take great ...

Disappointed in several things

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Celebrity Summit

We did 2 weeks on the Summit. We were on the Summit 2 years ago on the same back to back. The entertainment was either a repeat or below average. The ship definitely did not have a 'fun' feel. They pretty much close up the pool area at 8pm. We ate in the buffet most of the time because the food was so so in the dining room. We liked the salad bar, stir fry and back grill where they freshly cooked ...

Fantastic Crew and Staff on the Summit - Dancing Too

My wife and I occasionally cruise every few years, this being our fourth cruise. We chose Celebrity to experience a level of service above what we had on Carnival 3 years ago. We picked the Summit out of San Juan, Puerto Rico to sail the Eastern Caribbean and visit new and exciting islands beyond the typical ports like Nassau and Cancun. We looked forward to the entertainment, and as social ...

Good quality of food

This was the third cruise we did this year and picked Celebrity based on recommendations of the food on board. the food was prepared the best flavor of our cruises but the variety lacked in the main dining room and the buffet seemed to be about the same for 7 days with the lunch and dinner buffet looking pretty much identical. The ship needed some TLC - she is a nice older ship but in areas ...

First Time in Sky Suite

We booked this cruise back last April, while on our first Celebrity sailing. We originally booked an Aqua Class room. However, we decided after final payment date that we would upgrade to a Sky Suite. This was our third sailing with Celebrity after about 25 on RCCI. A bit about Luminae. When we were bandying about the idea of upgrading, we asked a few folks we knew why we should upgrade. Almost ...

Great captain, but not much to do.

This was our 2nd time on Summit, 5 years apart. Enjoyed the updated version, new carpet, new optional restaurants, but still not much to do other than the usual shows, casino, etc. The specialty shows in the main theater were very good, both headliners and staff productions. A couple of the headliner shows started at 10:30 pm which was pushing our ability to stay up. Activities like Karaoke ...

Comfortable Shoes

This was our 4th time on the Summit, so obviously, we like it. The Summit isn't new or huge ship, it has no ice skating rink, rock climbing walls, slides, or bumper cars. What is has is impeccable service, really good food, and I always meet the nicest people on her. I"ve been on larger, more modern and ships with more amenities, but the Summit is like comfortable shoes. There are no ...
