Never again on this cruise line!

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Celebrity Infinity

We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and Cruise Line. The Canal was underwhelming since it was impossible to hear the transit narration over the PA system and therefore we missed the history and tidbits concerning the old vs new canal. Celebrity has run this route for years yet still has opening day problems on simple issues. Many times it looked like the previous transit crew had been ...

Transit the Panama Canal - and experience of a lifetime!

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Celebrity Infinity

I chose this cruise because we wanted to do the complete transit of the Canal. We've always enjoyed cruising with Celebrity and this time did not disappoint us. Passengers had been given a specific time to check in (based on the floor on which their room was located) so we didn't have the huge crowds all arriving at the same time. This made the check in process a little easier. Our room was a ...

Honeymoon I won't forget.

We booked this cruise as our honeymoon before we even decided when we were getting married. We had a lot of expectations and concerns with this cruise. Mostly, this would be the longest cruise either of us have been on and knowing that, we knew the demographics of this cruise would be higher than normal. We were not wrong. This does not mean it was a bad thing. Embarkation: There was a ...

Before the cruise we stayed 2 nights in San Diego and after the cruise 2 nights in Miami. Enough time to explore the cities and no hurry to get to the ship and back home immediately after the cruise. Both ports are easy to reach from the Airport or Airport Hotels. Embarkation was the worst I've ever had. There's room for improvement. Disembarkation was very fast. Old ship but in good ...

This was our 6th Celebrity cruise and the second on this class of ship.Having read the November reviews (the cruise before ours),I felt I had to come to the defence of the ship. This was our second time through the canal and the actual cruise and ports of call sell themselves. The ship itself is as we all know getting on a bit and shows it a little here and there but not to such an extent that it ...

Very disappointed with Celebrity Cruises and the Infinity

While we have sailed with Celebrity Cruise Lines several times, this was the first cruise on the Infinity and what a disappointment. The service on the ship was far below Celebrity expectations. The ship is older as is not being kept up to standards i.e. 2 of the 6 hot tubs did not work although they were filled with water. etc. Most disappointing was the fact that we planned ahead for side ...

We picked this ship because of the itinerary. We had an aft concierge cabin and the large deck was worth the up-charge, plus the itinerary suited an aft for earlier sailaways and the Canal journey. The ship was very clean having just returned from a noro-cruise and we all remarked we must be the cleanest passengers on the cleanest ship. As the days went on the ship appeared to return to fairly ...

Let down by poor food, average entertainment, and poor management of virus.

Overall: While we had enjoyable experiences on the cruise this was due more to the ports of call rather than the ship itself. Overall the cruise fell well below our expectations. The quality of food was not much above fast food / cafe standard and the entertainment was very variable. The ongoing actions to contain the norovirus outbreak only lessened the enjoyment, with some ...

Celebrity Infinity Central America and Panama Canal

The Infinity cruise before us had norovirus, but Celebrity went above and beyond to make sure our cruise didn't have the same problem. They were extra cautious and I applaud them for it. We'd sailed on other cruise lines but this was the first one with Celebrity. I came in with high expectations because people had said we would find Celebrity exceptional and above the other typical cruise ...

Amazing Panama Cruise

Panama cruise April 13 - April 28 2015 Due to mechanical problems, our flight between Brussels and Atlanta was delayed with more than 7 hours. Besides that the flight between L.A. and San Diego was cancelled. So we did the last track by bus. So we made it just to board the ship. Unfortunatly, due to a minor outbreak of the norovirus on the previous cruise, everything was delayed on embarkation ...
