Friend and I had never been to South America. We figured this cruise would check that off the list as well as fulfill the desire to sail the Strait of Magellan.
We flew into Santiago the day prior to the cruise and had purchased transfers to Valparaiso, almost two hours away. There were no taxis at all, Jan 2 is a national holiday in Chile. Would have been nice if Celebrity had realized this ...
We had always wanted to do a Cape Horn cruise as it is one of the classic voyages. We were 2 couples. Coming out of Covid, the incentives were fantastic with free drinks, tips and (slow) wifi.
Embarkation from Valparaiso was a gong show as I believe ours was the first ship departing for Celebrity from that port in about 3 years. Lots of grumbling in the very long line and many of the staff ...
This was the 9th Celebrity cruise for me; the 2nd on the Constellation. My first experience with cruising was with Celebrity on a Mediterranean with my mother in September 2004. I was so impressed with the level of service, food quality/presentation and the entertainment that I encouraged my husband to go with me on a Eastern Caribbean with Celebrity on the Millennium in 2007. He was hooked! We ...
My partner and I had sailed two previous times with Celebrity and had not even considered another cruise line when we wanted a quick getaway for New Years. This sailing had us questioning if we’d ever come back to Celebrity due to the lackluster service, dining procedure, multiple drink options unavailable, and a nickel and diming attitude I thought was for other cruise lines.
First, the ...
My husband and I were on Summit, the same itinerary, on Oct 2021 and loved it so much that we booked this cruise on the spot for the whole family. This was cruise #12 on Celebrity and cruise #42 overall for us. We've been cruising for 30 years, and this for sure was the worst Celebrity cruise ever. The 10/21 and 12/22 cruises were as different as DAY and NIGHT! I would say that Celebrity hit ...
This is the third NYE cruise our family does on a Celebrity ship, having sailed on the Summit and Equinox before, this time around a general decline in service was noted.
It was impossible to get drink service at the table at the Ocean View restaurant during lunch or pool side. It seems to me that since most guests opt for the "all in" perks, the trick for the line is to make drink consumption ...
This cruise fit our calendar wonderfully and allowed us to get away for awhile and be pampered. The ship is lovely, in our estimation, the perfect size. In spirit of openness we are Elite with Celebrity so we do get some perks. We boarded easily, 25 minutes from curb to stateroom. Ship was tastefully festive and the crew was gracious and welcoming. Our Cabin 8038 was spotless, soothing and ...
Whilst the cruise we expected, in the way of ports, we have seen a decline in the level of service since coming back after COVID. Activities staff have been cut right back to two and the number of waiters greatly reduced. No longer any in the theatre. I’m guessing with it being over the holiday period it felt American centric, but that’s no big issue. Aqua food & service for the first two nights ...
We are a mid-50's couple who have been cruising for 25+years with multiple cruise lines over the years. This particular cruise was planned as a combined Christmas, Birthday and Graduation cruise. there were 5 total travelers, we booked 2 concierge balcony cabins, one for my wife and I and one for our son (17), daughter (21) and her fiancé (24). Our disappointment was with the overall service and ...
Chose this cruise for the itinerary
Ship was old. Took 3 hours to board packed like sardines in the heat
Had a cabin for three. ( one person could not go S she was sick). She Wouk’s not have had a bed as the 3rd bed was squashed against the veranda and my bed, The bathroom tiles were mouldy.
Only tried to eat one dinner. It was tough and awful. Similar dinners every ...
