After around 20 cruises, this was our first Med. - and our last. The Silhouette which we had been on twice before was very crowded, I believe the passenger capacity has been increased and it showed. Full sunloungers, extremely difficult to get a seat in the evening and constantly running the gamut of the numerous motorised scooters - not wheelchairs I must add. More smokers than I have ever ...
A little bit about ourselves first. Me and my husband are seasoned cruisers, approx 20 so far with the last 8 being on the s class ships. We travelled with my sister and brother in law - cruise virgins.
Embarkation was a breeze we were on board by 11.30, no long queues, checked in at the muster station and then dropped off hand luggage in our staterooms. We had adjoining staterooms deck 8 just ...
We chose this cruise for its itinerary, our Steward, Waiter, Assistant Waiter and Sommelier where brilliant considering the amount of tables/cabins they had to cover, however they were let down by the choice and standard of food in the Main Dining Room, choices for starters usually 2 or 3 Salads 2 types of Soups and Snails and Shrimp Cocktail. Main courses not much better and frequently the food ...
Sadly, it is the last day of our cruise. I am happily sitting in the Constellation at deck 11 forward tip of the ship lounge with a cup of coffee, enjoying the view of Hydra. I love this lounge. It is huge, 3/4s around floor to seating windows, air conditioned and quiet most of day time.
First, I will comment on a couple of board type topics. We had chocolates on our pillows, our room was ...
We hadn’t cruised for some years due to COVID and illness and decided to take this no-fly itinerary on ship we last cruised on in 2015 after a number of previous Celebrity cruises.
Our overall impression was that the ship was much more crowded than on past cruises and this was most evident in the Ocean View Cafe and the sun decks where finding a sun bed proved an almost impossible task, despite ...
This was our 2nd time on this exact ship and itinerary. We took it a 2nd time because we had a cruise credit which had to be used, and it was convenient for us. We really enjoyed the Dawes Glacier experience (turning that big ship around in the middle of a Fjord; no easy trick) as well as Zip-Lining Grizzly Falls and the Bering Sea Crab Fisherman's Tour!
The OnBoard experience was a very ...
I've read the many post-pandemic reviews and am stumped at the negative experiences these reviewers reported. I thought this Celebrity cruise was wonderful. I've been to Alaska several times before. I chose this cruise in order to see Hubbard Glacier and Icy Strait Point. The latter was a new destination for me. I started the trip with a 5 hour train ride from Anchorage to Seward, where the ...
In 18 years of cruising this was the worst cabin location we have ever encountered. Aqua cabins are located immediately below the Sauna/Solarium which entails being woken at 7 am each morning by furniture, etc being dragged across the deck above. In addition the balconies on these cabins are entirely devoid of direct sunshine due to the very ugly and huge overhang of the deck above.
We have ...
We have sailed with Celebrity before and had high expectations. The ship looked good on 1st impression.
Plus:
Attentive and hardworking despite so few.
Smart clean lounges
Good sized balcony
Goods customer service staff.
Pleasant coffee lounge with cakes
Easy embarkation
Minus:
Old accessible mini-van with very poor suspension collected us from airport to Ravenna. ...
We always enjoy the Solstice class ships and this cruise was no exception. The service was outstanding--cabin steward, bar service, MDR, coffee shop, etc. No issues with service anywhere on the ship despite it being a full sailing. A few guests at the martini bar were expecting 30 second service and voiced some complaints (we all know the type), but the service was excellent and the bar staff ...
