We chose celebrity because of past positive experiences and this cruise was even better. The embarkation and disembarkation were streamlined-our only wait was with customs. Celebrity especially has the embarkation down to a science--so fast and smooth.
The ship itself had many areas that were roomy and uncrowded, which cannot be said for the other cruise lines with whom we have traveled. The ...
Cruise was low end cost, reasonable. Just a get away with friends. We are seniors and not able or want to do crazy activities. Bermuda is a pretty place to visit. We did not see a lot there and better to go to a hotel and tour all around Island then cruise. You are limited on the cruise to time issues. If you are unable to use a moped which is the main way of getting around, is not good. You ...
We were on this cruise as part of a large group for a Bermuda wedding. This was our first time on Celebrity (cruised multiple times with RCCL and Carnival). People in our group ranged from teens to 70s. Embarkation was super easy and we were on the ship within about 30 minutes after leaving our car.
The ship itself is fairly old but they've actually done a pretty good job at keeping it looking ...
This was our first cruise & couldn’t have enjoyed it any better....well if we didn’t have to go through the rocky waters from the hurricane that was in the Caribbean last week. I thought I would be terrified but actually enjoyed every minute. The staff was unbelievably friendly & do anything to please. We were in Concierge room 8091. It was in a great location & very clean. The food was ...
This was our first cruise with Celebrity after two prior cruises with Royal Caribbean. We chose the Summit because we loved visiting Bermuda on the Anthem of the Seas and wanted to spend more time there, which this cruise offered (three days in Bermuda on the Summit as opposed to two with the Anthem.) The Summit is, unsurprisingly, noticeably smaller than the Anthem. This really shows on ...
My husband and I had trepidations regarding this cruise as we had read some discouraging reviews about the Summit that were posted recently on Cruise Critic.
We had sailed on the Summit seven years ago on a cruise to Bermuda and we were not highly impressed with that cruise. The furniture in the public rooms was a bit dilapidated, our cabin steward and his assistant seemed to be disinterested ...
Our primary reason for selecting this cruise was that the ship would be overnight in Halifax for Canada Day and overnight in Boston for July 4th. Despite advertising this cruise and an "Independence Day Cruise" the ship failed to provide any way to see the Boston Pops and the big fireworks display other than to provide a public transportation map of how to get there. With so many people ...
We chose the New England itinerary because there were a couple of places that seemed to be fun and interesting to visit. It included Halifax, Boston, Bar Harbor Maine, and Portland Maine. But the options Celebrity Summit offered for tours on this cruise were poor, limited and boring. We tried booking three tours that caught our attention "A Taste of Maine" (included food tasting, lobster roll, ...
We read reviews of celebrity and their food and liked the itinerary. However, the ship is in poor repair with rust, cracks in finishes, carpet coming up in our cabin, dirty sofa, awful beds, and a musty smell in the bathroom, and seats you fall into in the oceanview restaurant. So much is peeling and in poor condition that they even have folding chairs in the oceanview.
Staff are pleasant ...
This was our fifth Celebrity Cruise. We were upgraded to a balcony suite 6022, and it turned out the balcony was twice the size of most others. Apparently there are 16 such larger balconies. We used the balcony more than we usually do. Overall we had a great cruise. Food and service throughout was excellent. We disliked the Qsine fine dining as it offers a multitude of dishes, all tiny ...
