You know, the thing is that we have been floating on this ship for over 3 weeks now.. with the best Captain, the best staff, pretty good food, an nice suite on the 12 th floor. Love it.. but...but.. there is just one big thing that gnaws on me daily. The Guy in charge of movies, sports etc. on tv. So get this, 70% or more of the 3000 cruisers are from US. It is the middle of the football ...

Cruise director discriminates against people from countries other than Britain

This ship does not suit international people. Too many bad jokes about Americans being obese, other people's use of English and other races. May not be intended but compare to other cruises it's a narrow minded ship. I wonder if the cruise director will change her tune if the ship sails other routes. On the plus side, the food is good and majority of the staff are friendly. Cabin is ...

The ship itself was well equipped, our inside cabin was a good size. Both the embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly. The service on board ship was good, our cabin attendant was very good. As far as we are concerned the two things that really let this cruise down was its daytime activities, and the food. We did not like what was served in the main dining room most evenings so we ...

The cruise was great, ruined by the cabin and some of Celebrity's choices

Chose this primarily because of the time in Israel and Greece. Celebrity have chosen to put an outside movie theatre at the rear of the ship on deck 12 (More of a "terrace than a deck really) which has a negative impact on all the rear- facing 11th floor cabins, especially 1140. Israel was not as good as I had hoped - the crowds are really bad - and we went when things were "quiet". By really ...

Nice cabin, good food but a number of annoying negatives.

Classic Drinks Package-to 9$ a drink- except not highlighted you pay in full if the included drinks are from cabin mini bar or served with food in cabin, & you pay in full for $5/6 fruit & smoothies drinks from the Spa Bar. It's either a drinks package or it isn't, & it isn't. A rip off. Horrendous loud screaming music in the buffet restaurant - turn it OFF! This is not a pleasant dining ...

Celebrity Silhouette is the most unstable vessel I have ever sailed upon, and I have sailed many ships from many cruise lines around many parts of the globe. She lurched from side to side and front to rear for the entire two weeks. Two weeks of bouncing off the corridor walks despite calm seas. Spoilt the holiday really. By the end of the two weeks the number of passengers seen with arms, wrists ...

Have always wanted to do a cruise to Israel and this one gave us 3 days to explore. took the Celebrity transfer from the airport to the port, bus was old and a bit hot and stuffy. Did not like the port of Civitaveccihia, embarkation was in a tent. Your passport is taken away and given back to you on board when you need it for any excursions you have booked. It is a security requirement by ...

what is the point of paying extra for getting less, the menu in BLUE restaurant was smaller than in the CUVEE restaurant which meant that the choice was very limited indeed .we were also annoyedt that after the quiz in the afternoon in the mast bar we were asked to vacate the area as it was going to be cleaned ,when in fact it was going to be used for a private do, please treat us like adults not ...

The Cruise Boarding was excellent, with no queuing at all, we were actually on board for 10.30 am. A little perk of being Captains Club Elite Plus allows us to board from 10.30am. As we stepped onto the ship as always I just felt ah yes we are back home, it is a wonderful feeling at the start of any cruise. The Itinerary was two days at sea to the Azores where we docked at 2.00pm with a ...

A potentially great cruise, spoilt by poor dining experience

Having sailed on several Celebrity ships, this was previously my favourite cruise line. We chose to sail on the Silhouette this time, as we are totally fed up with the hassle at airports, so wanted a no-fly cruise, and the Silhouette is now the only Celebrity ship that sails from Southampton. However, after our experience on this ship, we definitely won't be choosing Celebrity for future cruises ...
