We had not been on a big cruise ship before so we chose Celebrity X Silhouette for our first one. When we saw it as we arrived in Southampton we said "wow what a huge ship". Embarkation and Disembarkation went very smoothly. What a luxurouious ship throughout. Immaculate from top to toe. Pristine cleanlines everywhere on board. We had an inside stateroom on deck 8 number 8296 which was much ...
We selected this cruise because the itinerary was totally new to us - we had not previously been to any of the stops.
We flew from Florida through Philadelphia on British Airways to Heathrow (LHR) and arrived before 7am. About a month before the cruise we booked the 8:30am National Express bus on-line from Terminal 5 to Southampton ($25 each). The bus arrived 10 minutes prior and became ...
It was late in the year for us to take a cruise but glad we did, the year before I had been on the Eclipse the sister ship to the Silhouette and enjoyed every minute of that cruise, I have to say myself and the wife decided to take our 15 year old granddaughter on her very first cruise to show her mom and dad its the way to go.the minute we stepped onto the ship we was treated like one of the ...
The ship seemed to be over crowded it was a nightmare trying to get a seat in the buffet. In the restaurant it was just for people with drinks package. It took me ages to get the wine list and the bottles of wine was very exspensive, when they had it.Half the time they never had the wine I wanted. We also didn't like the times of the shows in the theatre at 7 and 9, if you went to the early show ...
We had a great experience on our 21 Oct 18 cruise. The staff were great, drinks package was excellent value for money, food plentiful, hot and lots of variety. The shows were grand we enjoyed the John & Paul duo, Al the American comedian, The Tenor (I'm afraid I can't remember his name - but he was good), Reigning Rocks was fantastic, Trust me jack were great (but loud!) and we enjoyed lots of ...
We left home at our usual six o’clock and after an uneventful journey we arrived at eleven, we thought we might have to wait to our official boarding time but no, we sailed straight through. This is the first time we’ve been on a smaller Celebrity Silloette ship and found it took a bit of getting used to, we had balcony cabin 6283 on deck six, there are only two sets of lifts which meant a lot of ...
We have taken more than 20 Celebrity Cuises and chose this itinerary as it sailed from and returned to Southampton for a no fly Cruise as my wife has walking difficulties and did not wish to fly.
We had an Accessible Suite which was ok but looking dated in decor but was otherwise finebut the wet room shower leaked water all around the bathroom which we avoided by placing towels s a water ...
This ship does not suit international people. Too many bad jokes about Americans being obese, other people's use of English and other races.
May not be intended but compare to other cruises it's a narrow minded ship.
I wonder if the cruise director will change her tune if the ship sails other routes.
On the plus side, the food is good and majority of the staff are friendly.
Cabin is ...
The ship itself was well equipped, our inside cabin was a good size. Both the embarkation and disembarkation went very smoothly. The service on board ship was good, our cabin attendant was very good. As far as we are concerned the two things that really let this cruise down was its daytime activities, and the food.
We did not like what was served in the main dining room most evenings so we ...
Celebrity Silhouette is the most unstable vessel I have ever sailed upon, and I have sailed many ships from many cruise lines around many parts of the globe. She lurched from side to side and front to rear for the entire two weeks. Two weeks of bouncing off the corridor walks despite calm seas. Spoilt the holiday really. By the end of the two weeks the number of passengers seen with arms, wrists ...
