My husband and I have been cruising since our honeymoon 30+ years ago (which my parents bought us as a wedding present). During the pandemic we were so sad that we could not sail. We cancelled two or three cruises during that period (or they were canceled by the cruise lines). Finally we were able to sail on June 19 on our favorite ship, the Celebrity Summit. We had sailed on her six times ...
It was our first cruise ever.
Food on the ship was excellent overall (buffet, main dining room, tuscan grill and burgers at mast bar). Room attendant gave us excellent service. Ship is beautiful even if not new. All staff is helpful. Classic beverage package was perfect for us (lots of choice). Wine was good and frozen cocktails also. Embark and disembark process was quick and well ...
Took this cruise to celebrate someone's milestone b'day. It had been scheduled a year earlier, but due to Covid was postponed. Same ship, our group changed a bit, similar itinerary. We generally like Celebrity a lot, and now the wi-fi (poor !), gratuities, and basic beverage package are included. Great!
No Bingo? No pool party? No Cruise Critic party? etc. Noticeable cut backs or changes ...
My partner and I were on the Millennium’s June 17 sailing from Seward to Vancouver. I was excited because this was my first on Celebrity out of 19 cruises and what I considered an upscale cruise line. I was impressed by some areas and very disappointed in others on the ship. The ship was clean and well maintained with our cabin being a decent size and a wonderful cabin steward who attended to ...
Nightmare embarkation, no so-called health check as noted by Celebrity. Ship looks and feels old both on the interior and exterior. Outside areas rusting and missing paint. Wood surfaces, tables, stairs etc. were worn to the point where the finish was completely gone and rubber strips for traction on the stairs were peeling off. The back center wooden stairs from deck 14 to 15 were left flooded to ...
This was our 4th cruise with Celebrity, our 5th overall (the other with NCL). It was our first post-pandemic trip, we were basically forced to book because our FCC was going to expire. I wanted a domestic departure to avoid any covid travel issues that might occur with an international departure. Hubby has always wanted to go to on an Alaskan. This cruise fit the bill.
Food is a big deal ...
Embarkation from Bayonne NJ:
Upon arrival to the cruise terminal everyone was friendly and helpful. Without delay, we dropped off our large luggage and parked in the adjacent garage. Once inside the terminal, masks were required, but some opted out. Mask wearing was only slightly enforced. We breezed through security, and final document checkpoint and were then directed to a seating area for ...
This cruise was enjoyable, particularly as not full with only 2200 guests. We were on the silhouette in 2018 and at capacity it was unpleasantly full in the ocean view restaurant and around the ship. All staff were very friendly as usual and the senior team were more visible. Embarkation was challenging as the long queues were very slow moving. Disembarkation was much easier. The main ...
Celebrity is our favorite cruise line and itinerary of UK, Ireland. Scotland and Iceland sealed the deal. We planned this cruise since 2019. Finally got to cruise. Ship is great, service is best we have had, food was excellent. Celebrity made every attempt to protect passengers. However, after day four, we were warned about covid aboard. Later masks were recommended in all public spaces. We are ...
Overall we were happy with the cruise, but the land tour was terrible. I am going to split this review into two sections. I would do the cruise part again, but if you want a land/sea tour go elsewhere!
Cruise Review
Overall we were happy with the cruise part. The rooms were nicely designed and well thought out. The bed was comfortable. We really enjoyed our balcony. It is chilly while the ...
