Mostly picked this cruise for the 9 day length with 4 sea days. Looking to relax and visit some places we had not ventured to yet. The cabin was ok, but the attendant was great.
Dining was mostly very good. Specialty dining was great but expensive. Aqua Spa was a nice change of pace for a couple of lighter meals. Really missed the Bakery from the Edge Class ships. Wait staff and ...
We chose the itinerary (which was the Pacific Coast, not Japan) Originally we chose the Millinium, but the ship was changed to Solstice. Big disappointment. From a revolutionized ship to one who is just worn out. I choose a cruise for the whole experience and this did not deliver. The service overall service was great, the staff was friendly, we did not experience any of the shortages ...
First this was not a 15 night Bering Sea & Japan TransPacific but an 8 night Vancouver to Los Angeles Pacific Coast cruise. The ship was in very good condition with a few exceptions, like a bench seat with torn upholstery in the Oceanview Cafe. We were in Cabin 3174 (Unobstructed Oceanview) which has a convenient location to minimize walking distance and was not excessively noisy. Main dining ...
We chose this cruise/ line based on the itinerary. We booked Aqua Class but didn’t really use anything but Blu. We ate in here every night and were able to choose the Blu menu or Main Dining Room menu. We enjoyed the smaller, quieter space. Food was good, but not sure it was any better than the NCL cruises we’ve been on in the past. The crew was phenomenal- super patient and friendly. I observed ...
This was our first cruise in almost three years as the pandemic had put our cruising on hiatus. Since it was mid September we opted for a cruise to the Maritime Provinces of Canada to hopefully catch some of the color as the leaves turned. Maybe it is global warming but the leaves were very much green and intact as September wound down.
Despite the age of the Summit the ship looks very clean ...
This was our first cruise with Celebrity. Previously have gone with HA, RC and most frequently NCL. Having not cruised since 2019 wanted a short cruise to get us back in the swing of things. This fitted the bill. On NCL had used a Mini Suite so decided to try Concierge.
Pre cruise customer service poor, very late getting luggage labels and joining instructions. Also took some time to get OBC ...
Cabin
Cabin size was good, cabin cleanliness was not. Greeted by a pile of the previous guest's toenail clippings on the balcony. I don't what made us more annoyed, that someone would do that and leave them or that it hadn't been cleaned up. Went to Guest Services to ask that the balcony was cleaned, of course it didn't happen and so we sorted it. An old malteser under the bed and grubby carpet ...
I booked early and got a good price on a GTO, otherwise you might have seen a different review from me. .
View from balcony was OK. Had some amusing exchanges with the bridge when I was on my balcony. View was a little obstructed and not very private.
Cabin was fine enough for two. I wouldn't put more than that in there. I wish that the TV was visible from the bed. I also wish they had ...
Boring, there just wasn't enough to do on board for someone who is active; It felt like we had checked into as assisted living community. While the staff were lovely, efficient and helpful the ship was tired and the food was incredibly average. We ate in the specialty restaurants Le Petite Chef, Tuscan Grill and Murano and only the Tuscan Grill was worth the extra cost. The main dining room ...
My wife and I were not the typical cruisers on our recent sailing. We’re both in our late 30s, have traveled the world independently, and are interested in really getting to know a place and its people. I was really disappointed in both the vibe onboard the ship in tandem with the extreme tourist-ification of our ports of call. We did not partake in any of the shore excursions, instead planning ...
