Hello all!! My name is Rodney and I am posting this review to share my experiences onboard Celebrity’s Equinox with new and seasoned cruisers alike.
I’d like to start by saying, I sincerely think that there is no better way to travel the Caribbean islands than by cruise ship! For myself, this was my 20th cruise overall and my 3rd time on the Equinox itself.
General cruising tips. Some tips ...
We had a great experience on Celebrity a few years back, so with the south western itinerary offered, it was a good choice.
Our dissatisfaction is not with the crew who were all great. Some even exceptional, especially in the dining room. Our disappointments were with the "all included" package being so restricted and upgrades so expensive. Start with the internet. You can't Skype the grandkids ...
Overall the crew were excellent, we chose the all included option which was a good choice. Crew friendly, cabin steward was ok, but some days we didn't get the daily itinerary and there were no complimentary shopping bags or room service menu to fill in if we did want it. Only been on two cruises, previous with Carnival with our family including children. Just as a couple on this one. Food was ...
We choose cruises by the destination as we have no desire to do the same loop over and over again. Unfortunately many cruise lines rarely offer new countries or options other than the USA as homeports. As Canadians we find Celebrity do change things up and have done Asia, India, Middle East, Antarctica/ South America with them. This cruise appealed because of Panama and Colombia, new countries for ...
Columbia, Costa Rica, Panama - locations we had not been
Had signed up for a 4 class barre package Friday before departure. When arrived friends went to spa and was told they were cancelled. I expected to automatically get a refund, not so. Waited 7 days and I had to go to request a refund. Poor customer service.
Hubby and I had booked a couples massage. Went to spa to be told they ...
The cruise was great, but there were a couple of downsides. The food, room and entertainment were excellent. However, we felt that the amenities were a cut below Royal Caribbean. We are going on a RCCL cruise in April so we will be able to see which one is best after the pandemic. I was surprised that Celebrity added a $17+ charge for lobster dinner. This was always free.
The real awful ...
We wanted an all-inclusive experience when travelling with my in-laws. An adult experience with good food, entertainment for the in-laws and sightseeing. I had one previous RCL cruise more than 20 years ago, the rest of us were first-timers. I had done a ton of research prior to the trip and was worried about the many cutbacks I had read about. I saw them on the ship but they in no way impacted ...
This is my ocean cruise number 25 so I think I can be objective. It was called: 7 NIGHT SOUTHERN CARIBBEAN CRUISE. I took this cruise thinking that Celebrity was a notch better that Holland America according to other cruisers. I had a "Concierge" stateroom 9189. The ship was not what I expected at all! The most amazing thing for me is that they charged my credit card daily, for 11 times, and for ...
Was looking forward to this itenerary, we had sailed a similar cruise a few years ago and really enjoyed it. We enjoyed the ports on this cruise quite a lot - there were a couple ports that we hadn't seen and were terrific (loved Domenica). The ship and the service were both okay, but not great. The ship, despite its makeover a few years ago, is showing its age. Not everything has been ...
This was a fantastic itinerary. antarctica. warning it is a bunch of sea days. even for us. glad we did not do the adventure ships. they really got clobbered by weather. it was cold and windy. and being on a big ship was perfect. we had a veranda. a must for this. of the four trips celebrity made to antarctica in 2023 we had the all time best trip. drake was like glass. no clouds. ...
