We’ve tried quite a few cruise lines and had heard that Celebrity were excellent so thought we’d give them a go as they were doing the Norwegian Fjords, which we wanted to see as our next cruise.
Checking in was fine and our balcony cabin was lovely and clean and had a nice big bathroom/shower. Out cabin steward Anthony was lovely.
There were no major complaints as such, just lots of little ...
We have mainly gone on Cunard so we thought we would try another Line just to compare.
Well we weren't disappointed it was superb.
Although the journey down seamed to go on forever we were welcomed onboard with a much appreciated glass of Champers.
The lifeboat drill was a bit silly, its done using a cartoon film!
Our balcony cabin was better than we expected it was loverly.

Sailed on the Silhouette to the Norwegian fjords on 27/4/19 on a 7night cruise from Southampton. We last sailed on this ship in 2013 on a Mediterranean which we enjoyed. We also had a enjoyable trip to Norway but one big problem is that this is designed for warmer climates when people can sit on balconies.. When the ship is in colder waters in April /May people are unable to sit outside on ...
Well Eclipse and Silhouette are the same class of ship, have the same cruise director Sue when I have travelled on them, I have had the same cabin on both and having sailed the 8 day Fjords on Eclipse and now the 7 day Fjords on Silhouette can directly compare like for like.
So lets start at the beginning at check in, Eclipse was a breeze within a few minutes I was through security and on the ...
We chose this cruise because we had been on this ship before and wanted to visit the Norwegian Fjords. Overall we were pleased with the cruise and the destination didn't disappoint. The areas of disappointment for us were the quality and choice of food in the restaurant. After just a couple of days it became apparent that the menu doesn't really change that much, particularly the starters and ...
We just returned from our 8th Celebrity cruise this time on the Silhouette 7 day Norwegian fjords cruise out of Southampton. Ship was clean as usual, stateroom and stateroom attendant were excellent, anytime dining was easy and a real plus. All in all, the cruise was fun relaxing, and well worth it, especially with the stunning scenery we saw in the Norwegian fjords.
There were a couple of ...
On our last cruise we experienced a further deterioration on value on Celebrity cruises. Since last September, our last cruise on the same ship, beverage packages allowances have been altered drastically. With the standard liquor package no more cappuccinos and fresh juices are allowed. The beer selections has also been cut.
In the Dining Room the food was up and down. Often we had cold ...
Reading the reviews about the Infinity made me a little concerned about the age of the ship being we were doing a transatlantic trip 8 days at sea and ending up in Portugal and Spain.I cannot understand how some people can complain about this ship. The trip over seas was exceptional the ride smooth and the staff wonderful. I cannot begin to say how wonderful the experience was. I think if your ...
We loved being on the ship longer and having more sea days. We were in a sky suite which was most comfortable. We enjoyed eating in Lumina each night and spending time in Michael's Club. I need to be gluten free and I was so well taken care of, even having gluten free scones in Michaels' Club for the afternoon tea. The ship is beautiful..this was our fifth cruise on it. The staff is amazing ...
It seems much has changed since my last voyage on Celebrity. I’ve probably done a half dozen or more voyages with X over the years, and along with HAL considered it my favorite line. By way of background, I always travel in suites, so have the array of added benefits that this class of passage affords.
First, the positives: - The WiFi has become far more affordable, and far faster.
