Cabin 8257

We had a balcony cabin on Deck 8 located centrally. It was comfortable, with an extra long sofa that could have slept another person, and the best bathroom we've ever had on a cruise ship.Loved the shower.

We had to change our cabin from the originally booked 9272 to 9184 becasue of the noise from the dance pool deck. The change was great ans the cabin was excellent. The staff who looked after us, Lewis and Dimitri were very professional and they couldnt do enough.

The cabin was clean and decent for a shipboard cabin. Nothing was in disrepair except for rust on the deck which I'm sure is difficult to manage in the saltwater environment. Everything just seemed a bit more tired than the last time we'd been on this ship six years earlier.

Lovely cabin with a large balcony on the hump. Bed location was near the balcony which suited us as it was easier to access the wardrobes.

On the "bump out", nice large veranda, sufficient room for clothes (kind of), well located, bed near door layout, bath was small but they all are, no complaints.

Great cruise. By: Sandbox Cruiser
Cabin was excellent had a larger veranda as we knew which cabins had the larger ones. Cabin attendants were great, took care of every request promptly. Gave us a bottle of Champange for our anniversary. Room was right size with lots of storage space.

Cabin 8144
Jan 2016
Our stateroom was 8144, starboard side relatively near the bow. It was clean and functional, I think a slightly larger bathroom and shower than I recall from Oasis and Freedom class RCCL ships, and slightly smaller closets, but plenty large enough for 10 days of clothing for 2 of us, and we didn’t pack light (no lie, we had a checked suitcase full of nothing but shoes). We had our steward keep our min-bar /fridge cabinet locked so there would be no confusion. The balcony was normal sized, 2 wood deck chairs and a low table, comfortable enough to sit and read for an hour or so…. Our room was serviced twice a day and kept quite clean, no complaints there. We didn’t get any folded towel animals, but I think we’ve probably seen all of the ones that can be created anyway, so no big deal. We had an issue with our safe door not working about mid cruise, but it was quickly remedied by Customer Service. My biggest complaint about the stateroom is the same one I have had about every stateroom on every ship I’ve been on, the AC just doesn’t get the room as cool as I like for sleep. It was operational, kept the room at a consistent probably 72-74 degrees even on the days we had sun on our side of the ship and some days the outside temp flirted with 100. I just would like it to get cooler, but I guess ships just aren’t built that way. The navigation channel is not as detailed as RCCL; only one static map, no route traveled is noted, no trip knots traveled, no sea depths, etc. Other than that the TV system seemed very similar. One neat feature is that you can view your photos on the TV system, but some time on the last evening they take those down.

Nice, clean cabin, very quiet. The bed was comfortable and located next to the veranda. It has the larger veranda due to the "bump", it was nice but not worth the few hundred extra for it.

nicely laid out although whomever thought the cabinets over the beds would be accessible to the normal public was sorely mistaken...there needs to be someway to access those cabinets without the danger of climbing on the beds! Bathroom nicely laid out, plenty of cabinets. Would be nice if there was room in the sofa for storage.

Cabin 8255

We were in Cabin 1088, inside category 9 originally. It was centrally located, quiet and you felt no movement of the ship. We were upgraded to Cabin 8255 by guest relations (and they were wonderful!) after my husband a few issues unrelated to the cruise. (lost wallet that was later located and broken scooter). The balcony cabin was just a little bigger and of course had a balcony, but it wasn't as smooth a ride as the other cabin. We did feel the boat movement more.

Excellent Equinox By: agathasmum
Quiet cabin near the aft stairs. Bed is by the verandah. This is a hump cabin with an oversized balcony. It is 2 decks above the smoking area on deck 5. I did smell smoke a few times, but was never sure whether it came from the smoking area or an illicit smoker on one of the other verandahs. Current cabin stewards Jenny and David are excellent.

May 2015
Our hump cabin on deck 9 was very quiet, just steps around the corner from the elevators, stairway and Card/game room. Our balcony did not seem much larger than a Category 2. I brought reusable cloth cubes which we utilized for storage above the bed as storage is limited. I hung my shorts, shoe bag and all dress & casual clothes, so our closet space was tight but just enough. We met our cabin steward and just asked for an ice bucket and twice daily refills. He was always pleasant and available during normal hours in the halls. Only twice did he forget to refresh the Beach towels, which was an issue as we went to beaches at each port of call. We just had to go to the pool area and get towels before going off ship. They are not available as you disembark.

Cabin 9239
Jan 2015
We chose this stateroom because the verandas on the bump-out sections appear to be somewhat larger than others. This statement is on the port side just off the aft staircase and the Card Room. Although the proximity to the stairs and elevators was great, it turned out that this is a "staging area" for the stateroom attendants and there was nearly always one or two large cleaning/linen carts outside our room in the hall. It didn't really bother us that much, and was very quiet at night, but next time we'd move a few staterooms further down the hall. This appears to be one of the very few design flaws that there's not some sort of alcove or cranny where these carts can be easily stowed when not in use. There were also a few issues with the television system which we thought was the remote but after having it replaced appeared to be a buggy operating system that made the remote work erratically.

What can I say, we loved this room so much the first time in 2012, that we booked it again. Really mid-ship, in both directions! Just a few cabins from the central glass elevators, but at night electronic glass doors would close and we never heard a sound from another cabin or the hallway.

Cabin was very nice overall. The bathroom nite lite was a big hit. We loved it. TV made a loud chime sound when turned on or off. Could not stop that feature. HD would have enhanced the TV display a lot. The veranda on this particular cabin is slightly larger than others because of the pop-out layout. Good cabin to ask for if you like a big veranda. Also, located close to elevators, but not noisy. Cabin steward kept everything very nice. We liked this cabin.

I found my cabin on Celebrity Equinox to be extremely quiet--no trouble sleeping. It should be noted, though, that when selecting a cabin, I go over the deck plans very carefully before making a decision. There was more than adequate storage space--look at it this way: if you've filled the closed and every drawer and cabinet, you've brought way too much!!! The veranda was nicely sized and didn't feel cramped--two comfortable chairs and a table are furnished. The bathroom had attractive cabinetry to store personal items and the shower area is the best I've seen yet--no shower curtain but sliding doors!

Cabin 1650
Apr 2013
Our room in aqua class #1650 11th deck starboard side aft was very nicely appointed with the sofa located next to the balcony. The bathroom was very nice and the shower noticeably larger than the one on Ruby Princess. Gents, if you are waffling on upgrading to aqua class, your ladies will LOVE the shower! The only adverse comment I have to make is noting that unfortunately for us, the crew hallway entrance door was directly across from our stateroom, the slamming of the door was constant. No ship diagram online points this out, there was no way to foresee this. I had spent so much time finding the perfect room (staterooms above and below, down the hall to avoid noise, etc) this was disappointing. Of note, if you are planning Aqua class I advise NOT to book rooms on the 12th deck for 2 reasons. Your view above is obstructed by the cantilevered deck directly above plus there are also public spaces above you. If you don't care and are a heavy sleeper, enjoy

Best cruise so far By: Petrel96
Never seen so many crew members always smiling; and saying hello before on any cruise. If you are taking this ship after Jan 1; 2013; head to the Cellar Masters; the wine bar; and say hello to Ana; she really made the cruise; for friendly and knowledgeable attitude.

What a great cruise By: Sylvia Rivers
We had cabin 9292. We found it very spacious with plenty of storage room. Plenty of room under the beds for suitacases and storage cupboards above the beds were useful for things you did not need every day. Our balcony was large and the seating very comfortable. Bathroom more than adequate - shower good size and plenty of storage space in the bathroom. Location was mid ship and very close to the elevators. We experienced no noise.

Cabin 8199

Executive Balcony Stateroom (8199)Port side fore The cabin was much bigger than I had expected. There was plenty of hanging space in the wardrobe and decent overhead cupboards above the bed to supplement the 5 or 6 small drawers. There were 3 sockets : 2 x European and 1 x USA (or vice versa) and a decent hair dryer. The 32" television had a very good selection of information and free films but a limited selection of "normal" channels. The bathroom is well designed and cleverly uses every inch of space. The shower cubicle itself had sliding doors and was big enough in which to bend over without hitting one's head on the wall. The bathroom cabinet had a socket for electric shaver / electric toothbrush.

Huge balcony, double as long as the standard balcony. Convenient location near elevators and card room but ver quiet room. Loved having the bed closer to the bathroom and main door rather than the balcony, it felt like we had so much more living space this way.

Cabin 9270 (Panorama Deck). Selected this after analysis on CC (great thread!). Very pleased with the choice - well situated midships close to lifts and stairs. No noise from card room. Extra large balcony was excellent. This cabin has pullman bed and sofa bed - we only used the latter as it was comfortable and more convenient.

6225 & 6227. we thought this was a great location. mid ship. half way up the deck and half way down!, very short distance to stairwells, elevators. NO NOISE at ALL heard from other guests walking past etc. The Pilot boards the ship directly underneath us when entering leaving Port - so was great for kids to watch. No view obstructions.

Cabin 6215

Room 6215 was great. We would definitely chose this cabin if we ever went back on the Equinox. Biggest balcony on the bulk. I think it was the biggest balcony you could get apart from a suite. About 3 times bigger than a normal balcony. Very quiet and very near the elevators so no time wasted walking in a long corridor to get to your room. Some cracking noise in the ceiling or walls but nothing that really bothered us. We were only curious to find out what it was : - )

Brits at sea! By: Brian Ayre
Cabin 7111 at the front of the ship. During docking and embarkation the bow thruster almost shakes you out of bed. It may, intermittently, go on for some time. You are also near the anchor. Not so good at 4am! Balcony is directly overlooked by the bridge. Cabin was very good.
