77 Reviews

Deluxe Veranda 2B (2B)
Decks: Deck 6 | Deck 7
The standard veranda cabin was good with a comfortable bed and good amenities. The bath was especially well done and I loved the large shower with real doors instead of the pesky curtain. I didn't like the lack of drawer and shelf space! We had to have extra life jackets moved so we could use the under bed bins for storage and my short wife had to climb on the bed to reach the over bed rack. OK for a short Caribbean cruise with shorts and T-shirts, but sorely lacking for a long transatlantic.

The cabin was situated way back on deck seven which was great for dining but not so good for the theatre which is at the very front of the vessel. Lesson learned. We knew exactly what to expect cabin wise but were, for some reason, more aware of the real lack of storage space on this ship. A reasonable sized wardrobe is adequate for a two week vacation but there are no proper bedside cupboards! Just a strange tiny shelf unit that isn't a uniform shape and gives SO little space for 'stuff' like glasses, pills, a drink etc. The over-the-bed cupboards are OK for small items but not really much use for clothing like tops, T shirts etc. as they are too shallow. The only other storage are four medium sized drawers situated under the LED TV. Hence much of our clothing was left in the cases under the bed. A real pain. Otherwise the cabin was OK.

Adequate size with smallish balcony. Limited storage space, particularly lacking drawers.

Very good position with no obstructions. Easy to get down to Sonato Restaurant and theatre.

cabin was very quiet and comfortable, with a large comfy bed and a sofa and tv. The bathroom was roomy with plenty of storage for our toiletries. I particularly liked the shower cubicle, it had a bar to put your feet on for leg shaving/washing, a very good idea. I did not like the complimentary toiletries, but I suppose that is my personal choice, so used my own. The balcony was quite big enough for the two of us and we thoroughly enjoyed sitting out watching the world go by and we even saw some dolphins.

Accessible balcony cabins on Eclipse are spacious and well equipped, but they do need extra drawer storage.

9236 is amidships on the 9th deck. With a 2 metre swell we felt virtually nothing in terms of ship movement. We were told that we would have felt even less on say the 7th deck. Everything worked, and was big enough for the two of us. There was no feeling of being in a cramped space even though you knew that you are, a bit! The space was as expected, comfortable and good view from the balcony. The bed was most comfortable.

Quiet Location.. Part of an overhang is visible and blocks the view down .. Excellent storage..far enough away from the forward elevators to prevent noise.

Nice cabin 8265 which we will book again because of the great location. There isn't much difference in the cabins overall other than veranda or no veranda, inside or outside. It was spacious enough for us, I wouldn't want to have a third person in there. The storage was adequate, bathroom okay, veranda was nice. It was quiet. We never heard any noise except when we were out on the veranda where we could hear the people next door. Just normal conversation, no problem.

Our Cabin 8288 which was a on the starboard side very spacious with lots of room to store our clothes we were able to fit our huge suitcases under the bed . It is real close to the elevators and was very quiet. Spent time on the balcony, my favorite time is the spectacular Caribbean Sun rise and Sun set during the Sea days of the cruise. The balcony was also my private study room

Great bathroom and roomy shower. Bigger than normal balcony. Nice tv and great bed. A little short on the drawer space, but there was a great space above the bed for all my clothes. We'd do this room again, no problem.

Eclipse stateroom 7236 Very comfortable. Typical room. Good position on ship. Our veranda looked over the lifeboats but they did not interfere with our view. We had no noise issues. The floor stayed damp in front of the veranda doors but did not smell.

We were mid ships and quite enjoyed the fact that you were close to most things you were going to. The room was large enough and liked the washroom/shower area better than other ships. We found that storage was adequate but wondered why there was no drawers for clothing etc. under the bed.

Quiet location. Bed near shower room. Regular size balcony from which you can see the port side part of the bridge that juts out. Very convenient for Aqua spa, gym and theatre, just a short walk to the lifts.

We had 7226 and 7228. Great cabins, roughly midway between the two main elevator banks. These are connecting cabins - the main double door is closed and the two individual cabin doors are left open, creating a small foyer area connecting the two spaces. The verandas can be connected as well - just ask the stateroom attendant to open the glass partition. No issues with anything in the cabins. 7228 includes a pull-out bed under the sofa (we didn't use it). No noise issues except occasional "kids running around" noise from above or below, and noise from adjacent verandas.

7330 Bed by balcony great location quiet

The cabin was very quiet. The ventilation system worked really well. On windy sea days the balcony received a tremendous amount of sea spray that rendered it unusable unless you enjoy being covered in salty sea spray. Once the wind calms down, the balcony could be used for rest and relaxation as advertised. The room has ample size and storage space for two people. The safe is large enough to handle most valuable items. If I had taken my old laptop, it would have fit in the safe with no problem. The one thing that really sticks out in my mind is the size of the bathroom shower. The increased size is really a plus. This is a forward cabin, in rough seas I only felt the heavy rock and roll a few times. It is a long distance from the elevators and the eating venues. But it helps you walk off some of the delicious food.

Our cabin was ready by 1pm and a couple of our bags were already outside the door by the time we arrived. The sofa bed also had a trundle bed underneath it but we selected a cabin with an upper berth and our steward checked with us on the first day which configuration we preferred. He agreed that the trundle bed is not as good as it blocks access to the balcony. The cabin was very spacious for a basic cabin and was much larger than a standard cabin on P&O however it didn't have as much drawer space despite the size of the cabin. There were just five drawers, the bottom three were deeper than the top two, plus a narrow drawer where the hairdryer was stored under the vanity unit. In addition, above the bed there were two large overhead storage units which were extremely useful for storing clothes and made up for the lack of drawer space. The wardrobe had two separate additional rungs that folded down to give two level hanging if required. I brought little hangers for my children's clothes and it really helped with the limited drawer space available. We also asked for loads more hangers and our steward provided us with metal ones which were perfect as they took up less space than the bulky wooden ones in the cabin. Prior to sailing, I was really concerned that a two door wardrobe wouldn't be enough space for everything but with extra hangers there was no problem. I removed the bulky dressing gowns from the wardrobe and hung them in the bathroom as I think that extra space really helped us! We asked our cabin steward to empty the fridge on the first day so we could use it for our own drinks. The fridge was a good size and easily held the 3 litre wine box we brought on board and the cans and bottles of water than we got from the bars on the way back to the cabin. We also had a kettle as we were sailing out of Southampton so we stored a carton of milk from room service in the fridge to make cups of tea and coffee during the day rather than drinking the UHT milk provided. The bathroom was very spacious and had the best storage space of any bathroom we have had on a cruise including the mini-suite on Crown Princess. The shower was a generous size and had sliding doors. Although there was no washing line there were two spigots (knobs) in the shower plus two more on the door. Celebrity provided soap, lemongrass moisture lotion, lemongrass conditioning cream and lemongrass hydrating shampoo. There were also cotton buds, cotton wool balls and tissues in the bathroom. There was no shower gel provided. The lighting in the cabin was good and the upper bunk had its own light in the ceiling. The bedside lights were both extremely bright and couldn't be dimmed so you couldn't really read in bed without disturbing the rest of the cabin. The main lights could be dimmed and even when the bathroom light was turned off there was still a dim light so you could see. This was particularly useful to us as our son was not in total darkness to get down from his bunk bed in the middle of the night. There were three power sockets, two US and one European (for the hairdryer and kettle provided). We actually brought a four bar extension lead with us as we had so many things to put on charge at night and this worked really well. The safe had a combination lock and was the largest one we have seen on any cruise line due to its depth, so we were able to put a 13 inch laptop inside and it would also comfortably take an ipad. The cabin had an interactive 21 inch Samsung flat screen TV. You can use your television to book shore excursions, check your on board account, order room service and watch television. We enjoyed watching the GPS map which showed the location of the ship. We were not able to view our photographs on the television however, and the photographers confirmed that Celebrity have currently withdrawn this facility on Eclipse. The balcony was spacious with clear glass and a wooden rail. The balcony floor was wooden and the furniture had a metal frame with a wooden top. The two seats reclined in three different positions. We were able to get additional seating for our children but surprisingly there was no outside light for the balcony. We were really pleased with the cabin and didn't feel at all crowded even though there were four of us in one cabin. There was a huge amount of space under the bed for our suitcases. The life jackets were also stored under the bed in a basket so if you don't want to use the over head storage you could always put the life jackets up there and use the basket under the bed to store clothes.

Very nice touches in our stateroom - well planned accommodation with a glass fronted veranda and a beautiful and well equipped bathroom. Plenty of storage space. Tea and coffee making facilities a good idea - saved trips to the cafe for drinks. Supplies of coffee, tea and milk replenished twice daily. The hallway did sometimes get quite noisy but there were quite a few children on board and some of them delighted in running up and down the halls laughing and screaming, but they must have been 'letting off steam' and it never got too bad to complain about it. Only a couple of minor points - it would have been a lovely touch to have shower creme including in the bathroom whilst the tea/coffee facilities were useful, the tray tended to be in the way and we found ourselves moving it around the stateroom so we could use the space where it belonged for other things eg hair drying, make-up, writing etc

We found the cabin extremely comfortable and quite big enough. With the large locker over the bed, plus the drawers and wardrobe, there was plenty of storage for clothes. The 32" TV had a connection for HDMI cable and I could have connected my camera to it to view pictures taken (about 1100 altogether!). There's a 220V socket in the bathroom and one in the cabin so bring 2 adaptors. The bathroom was a good size with more storage space than we have had in many hotels.

Our stateroom No: 7233 was perectly positioned in the "bubble", fairly central and close to elevators. Although perhaps a bit larger than balcony cabins on other Celebrity and RCI ships we have sailed with distnctly larger bathrooms, we found that storgae space seemed to be even more limited than on other ships. The flat screen TV also could be better positioned to enable easier viewing while in bed. Only disconcering aspect was that our stateroom (on deck 7) was positioned directly above one of the outdoor smoking stations on deck 5 which was often crowded with chain smokers so we regularly had to put up with cigarette, cigar and pipe smoke wafting up to our balcony, serously diminishing our enjoyment of the balcony facility.

7141 is wheelchair friendly lovely shower room clean and spacious. but please when three people order a stateroom offer either a double bed and a proper single bed not the sofa put u up! We did get three single beds after saying the sofa bed was not right for us or daughter it was too low. what great service they attended to this problem in minutes well done Jose. love the private balcony there was often not room on deck 14 for sunbathing so this was great addition. love the chocolate on our pillow every night clean towels too. think the water far too expensive especially as we have tea making items in room.

Cabin 7214, mid ship, veranda suite with no restricted view, however view forward impacted by cabins forward protruding to the side of the ship. Good space, bathroom good size and shower very roomy and always good pressure, hot water. Cabin was silent not rattles, rumbles or shudders.

Leaving Heathrow whereby there is limited luggage allowance - we managed to pack all the luggage we needed. So to us the deluxe balcony we had suited us. Had we been leaving from Southampton, it's possible the cabin would not have been large enough, seeing you can take more luggage leaving from this port

Our stateroom, #6123 (2B Deluxe Ocean View w/ Veranda), appeared longer and narrower than similar staterooms we'd had on Millennium-class ships, and with less storage space. While nicely appointed and certainly adequate for two people, it was nearly impassable at night when the trundle bed and couch were prepared for our sons. This had not been a problem on our previous two family trips.

Room 6221 is well located about mid ship. While we were across form the elevators the wall between us and the elevators kept noise from being a problem. For the computer nerds our room was right across the hall rom the ship's I room with the computer stuff for people who want to check their email at midnight. Amazingly, I saw people going in there at that hour.

My cabin aboard Celebrity Ellipse was the best I have had on any ship I have cruised. It had plenty of storage space, the balcony was larger than any other ship I have cruised, and the shower stall was huge! Loved the cabin!

Great location, just outside the elevators. Sometimes you can hear the elevators ding, but it never bothered me. Bed is nearest to the bathroom.

The cabin was in an ideal location with excellent view from the balcony, which we used a lot. Elevators and the Internet room were close by. The spout o the wash basin tap sticks too far outPoor design.

Baltic - Baltic - Baltic! cruisin' johnny
Not any different from any other cruise ship cabin that we have experienced with Holland America or Royal Caribbean. Our neighbors, a mother and daughter, had a couple of late night "cat fights." We heard every word!

View down from balcony obstructed by lifeboat....view out, forward was fine....view aft obstructed by 'hump' however nice sheltered balcony with sunshine!! No washing line in shower...fixed tap over washbasin causes problems when wanting to splash water on face. Otherwise bathroom superb! More drawer space would be nice...not enough for 14 night cruise ...OK for shorter cruises.
