Transatlantic on the Eclipse - Fabulous

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Celebrity Eclipse

Ship: embarkation was smooth & fuss free at Southampton. The crossing was made effortless being on the Eclipse. The most spacious ship we've encountered & beautiful too. Plenty of activities as well as bracing walks up on deck or relaxing in a hammock or lounger around the pool outdoors or in the 'Aquarium' as we called it - the solarium/ indoor pool. Weather: For the 6 day crossing we both ...

My husband and I (53 and 47) choose this cruise because we had company. We travelled as a group of 6 with ages from 40s to 80s. The itinerary included Boston, Bermuda and Bahamas which I havent visited before. The ship decor was pleasant and tasteful. Nothing over the top. Our cabin was a balcony. It was comfortable. Had a kettle and coffee machine. We didnt really used the balcony because of ...

Have sailed many times on Celebrity, but boy have they gone downhill, they have no formal nights but a chic night that allows jeans to be worn. The food has drastically sunk to new level, the menus in main restaurant were very poor, the food was sent back many times from being too cold or over cooked ,the choice was terrible.Ate in Muranos but even though the service is excellent the food very ...

Not the Usual Celebrity Experience

We sail Celebrity Aqua Class exclusively and have always had a terrific experience on Solstice and Millennium class ships. The good/great: dining in Qsine and Tuscan Grille and the elite breakfast in Tuscan Grille; location of the Ports in Boston and NYC; Aquamarine Duo (piano and violin) that performed almost nightly in the Ensemble Lounge (fantastic); food in the Ocean view cafe; flexibility ...

AMAZING!

This was our very first cruise. We absolutely loved every minute and in fact within a week of our return have booked our next one. The ship is beautiful, the attention to detail is incredible, the service is impeccable. The breakfast choice was an overwhelming display of fresh cold and hot food, such a variety, I used to get lost! Lunches were on the same scale - we never felt like the food got ...

Disappointing Trans-Atlantic Crossing on Celebrity Eclipse

This was our 5th Trans-Atlantic repositioning voyage in two years and our first cruise on Celebrity. We're avid Mariners with 15 cruises under our belt, having sailed on Royal Caribbean, Princess, Holland America and Oceania. Highlights: The Eclipse is a beautiful ship and maintained to high standards. Constant emphasis was placed on hand sterilization in all venues. Kudos on job well done! ...

The ship was very clean, Lovely clean statement room, Food was lovely, no problems, we ate in the main dining room, same table with same dinner Guests every night, (met some lovely people). Head Waiter Alberto and Asst. Ruth and Wine waiter Alan were brillant, well informed about the meals and wine, and nothing was too much trouble. Some Passengers did complain that some of their meals were ...

Don't criticise poor service - they don't like it!

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Celebrity Eclipse

Travelled in a Royal Suite costing $13k. Included premium drinks for both wife and myself. I am teetotal. My wife hardly drinks. She had one glass of wine the whole trip. They charged an extra $6, which the Hotel Director maintained when I said it was petty. The band on board was awful. The only "show" we went to lasted about 30 minutes. Great comedian, but no band, dancers or anything. ...

Disappointing

My wife and I are long term cruisers, twice on Eclipse, with a gap of a few years; the first time was 2010, freshly painted from the yards. She was then the epitome of five star cruising, plush, elegant surroundings, attentive experienced staff, great food and great entertainment. How things change. This is my first and last ever review on here, no criticism intended to regular contributors, but ...

Our first time on a Celebrity cruise - we were impressed

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Celebrity Eclipse

We joined the ship after spending time with family in Scotland - I'm from there though now a Canadian citizen. We decided to do our first Transatlantic instead of flying back. The night before the cruise we stayed at the Premier Inn a walk away from the cruise terminal - modern and reasonably priced. Since our recommended embarkation time was 2:15 we left our luggage at the hotel after ...
