We first sailed with Celebrity Cruise Lines in 2005 on the Millennium for our Honeymoon. Since then we have sailed the Queen Mary 2 and Carnival Cruises, but we love Celebrity Cruises and now we are Captains Club members and only book with Celebrity Cruises now. We try to book cruises for our anniversary in February as often as possible.
I just want to mention that we are 54 & 58 years old ...
We looked forward to this cruise for well over a year from the date we ooked it in 2017, We watched with excitement everytime a new video was released getting closer to the launch. Then after the launch and a few sailings the reviews started comming in and most were very critical. It must be said that Celebrity has addressed some of these issues and as a result my expections have been improving ...
To try a new design of ship. We had heard reports of the interesting designs and the up market features.
We liked the designs in the cabin and public rooms. My wife hated the infinite veranda. Also this is distinctly a 2 class ship. Suite classes have taken over the front of the ship so there is no Sky lounge. Captains club meets in a dingy bar with no sea view. No Cellar Masters on this ship. ...
So I have been on Royal Caribbean , Disney and carnival Wow! So far this is no where close to other Celebrity ships as others have stated.
Unbelievable lack of attention or detail
We had no problems getting on the ship, the streamlined process is a breeze. That said you board the ship at a low level with no one at the ship when you walk on. Weird, no one greets you on deck 4.
Ship is as ...
We went to the Lawn Club specialty restaurant three times. The menu and food are excellent, as is the atmosphere up on the top deck. We had not done this on previous cruises thinking you helped grill the meat. That's an option but one few people choose. We went to the La Petit Chef specialty also, and food was good, but consider it a one-time thing to watch the visual graphics show.
The food ...
I had a group of 35 with some people with special dietary needs. I am vegan and the choices were very disappointing . Although my waiter was wonderful and tried very hard to find good dishes he didn't cook the meals. Twice they were so spicy I couldn't eat them. For most of the weeks I ate sweet potatoes and some wonderful vegetables that he brought every night. I have had far better ...
We stayed onboard for a second cruise on the Silhouette. See our review of the Feb 10, 2019 cruise that we posted.
Most of what we commented on there applied.
It was the very first time we've been on back-to-back cruises. We liked the fact that the itinerary was completely different, and there was no overlap of ports of call.
Being a shorter cruise (9 days compared to 12 on the first ...
Just returned from a 9 night Southern Caribbean cruise and experienced something I have never seen on a Celebrity cruise before. For some reason, some fellow passengers felt “entitled” to reserve 4-8 sun loungers while other guest went without. Silhouette officers were approached over this issue and either ignored the situation or failed to take corrective action that is common practice on ...
We chose this cruise for the time of year and because we had never been to the ABC islands before or on the Silhouette before either. She’s a beautiful ship with a wonderful crew. Very friendly and gracious.
Wonderful experience in the MDR, with very good food and service from Randy and Khorizan. Murano was excellent as always and the Lawnclub Grill was great also. We were disappointed in the ...
Wh chose to spend our 50th wedding anniversary on a cruise because of some mobility issues we have experienced. We wanted to have unencumbered access to dining and entertainment venues. The Silhouette exceeded all expectations. All staff and fellow passengers went above and beyond in accommodation our mobility issues. These issues weighed heavily prior to our trip.
Embarkation went ...
