Our 9 day cruise was much better then expected. We chose Summit because of the ports and we can drive to the terminal.
Embarkation- We arrived at the terminal around 11:30 for our noon boarding time, scanned boarding pass then walked onto the ship. The process took under 10 minutes.
Dining- We ate in the MDR 7 nights and the experience was very good. The food was well ...
We like to have relaxing days at sea on a ship with a good outdoor promenade - preferably one that accommodates deck chairs - where we can contemplate the sea, watch for flying fish and be mesmerized by the bow making swirling, foamy waves as it plows through the blue water. We don't care about flashy shows in the theater or trivia games or 'white nights' with pulsating beats on the pool deck. We ...
Not having traveled since 2019, we decided to move up to the Retreat class. A few weeks before the cruise, we were notified by the shoreside concierge to look for a specific location to drop our luggage and that we would be escorted to the ship from there. Well, when we got to the ship and asked for this drop off area, no one knew what we were talking about so we dropped our bags with one of the ...
This was our second Celebrity Cruise -- we had taken a wonderful Baltic cruise with Celebrity before Covid. This cruise, to the Canadian Maritimes, was quite different. The food was meh, the shipboard entertainment was Carnival Cruise level, and it was clear the ship was severely understaffed. Our room steward was terrific. And the captain did an amazing job of communications and keeping us safe ...
This was our first & last cruise with Celebrity. We chose Celebrity due to cruise credits about to expire from a previous cancellation. We have previously cruised with Princess, Disney and Viking and would book with them again . Unfortunately our itinerary changed greatly due to Hurricane Fiona which we understood and has little bearing on this review. We also contracted covid halfway through ...
Many of the musical events were way too load. Mainly Zumba and the house band in the main foyer. There were many expensive stores but no place to buy necessities like ibuprofen, toothpaste, sunscreen etc. The free WIFI was pathetic and apparently the only way to make it usable was to upgrade for $200! The outside movie theater was not watchable. The ship was not fully booked, but the dining room ...
We bought a Celebrity package holiday to Canada and flew to Boston. We should have been met by a Celebrity rep at the airport to direct us to our hotel transfer. There was no one there and the tel number provided didn’t work. Although it was an airport hotel not that far away, we ended up walking with all of our luggage. When we contacted Celebrity they denied all knowledge of us having a ...
This was our first cruise in almost three years as the pandemic had put our cruising on hiatus. Since it was mid September we opted for a cruise to the Maritime Provinces of Canada to hopefully catch some of the color as the leaves turned. Maybe it is global warming but the leaves were very much green and intact as September wound down.
Despite the age of the Summit the ship looks very clean ...
I only chose this cruise because my future cruise credit was expiring in September and I did not want to fly with the way the airlines are now. Being from New England I chose this cruise because it was an easy departure port for me. My originally planned cruise was on the Equinox in the Southern Caribbean for 12 days which was the one that first got cancelled. I rebooked the same itinerary on the ...
I don't normally write reviews however, with now 20+ cruises under our belt and our second trip across the pond, I thought that I would put 'pen to paper' to hopefully assist any new UK cruisers looking to travel either with Celebrity (this was our first time with Celebrity) or visiting New England & Canada.
In regards to the ship, our last 5 cruises have been on much bigger (150,000 tonnes +) ...
