I have cruised with Carnival many many times (enough to be at Platinum status for a while now). First time on Carnival Magic.
Embarkation: This was a piece of cake.
Cabin: Adequate. We had a cove balcony which we always book. The mattress was awful though. Awful. Balcony was rusty and dirty most of the week. We expect it to be salty as it is close to the water, but this was dirty and ...
We were thrilled by the first sight of the great old girl, the Paradise, a grand lady! For us, this was jaw-dropping decadence. Everything was so clean and well kept! Our cabin was small, but plenty roomy for us. The shower was hot and the water pressure was fantastic. Our Cabin Steward was Wahyu. He made us feel like we were the most important guests! Every little thing was paid attention to and ...
At first, we were really disappointed with the Dream. Then, things kind of turned around a little during the final sea days.
The good things:
-- The ship and staterooms seemed very clean.
-- The Alchemy Bar was a kick. Engaging, professional bartenders. Good drinks (although not cheap at $14 for a cocktail).
-- The Bonsai Japanese restaurant was one of our favorites. The food and ...
The food was only fair, but it helped me to avoid going weight. The Italian restaurant on board was fantastic and I wish I had discovered it sooner.
The excursions were great although some cancelled due to poor weather and it prevented docking. The dance show was fantastic until a performer fell off the main stage and into the descending front stage pit and required medical help. They refused ...
A few good things first: We had a suite, so boarding and disembarking were quick, no problems. The staff at the port are wonderful! We were able to go to our room immediately upon boarding. The suite was quite large. No problems there other than the big pole in the middle of the room right by the bed--made getting up at night hazardous. The walls also seemed very thin. We could hear crying ...
Please don't get me wrong, I LOVE CARNIVAL CRUISES however, this was the worst one I was ever on..
Where do I begin?
This is the smallest ship in the fleet and I brought 10 people on this cruise. We had What they called a junior suite. Junior was not the word for it.. Cabin is no more than a crew cabin with a balcony view. it was tight, tiny and I would never call this a suite of any sort. ...
I cruise multiple times out of the year and this cruise by far was the creepiest, weird and disappointing. Here's my reasoning behind why we felt this way.
Cons: 1. One of our port days was canceled which was Turks. We got a refund for $16...really.
2. Right before two of the major shows were canceled back to back we heard an announcement of an emergency, no follow up. If it's not for the ...
This was a bad cruise experience to say the least. The crew was friendly and kind but it was painfully evident they were under staffed on a sold out cruise. We have cruised with Carnival before and this cruise was poorly planned and executed. 30+ minute wait in the buffet lines over and over, poor choices and mediocre food. We waited over an hour for our anytime dining (not at out convenience) ...
Picked this cruise with 4 of my other friends -
when I say for a first time cruiser i was NOT impressed. The buffet was minimum - the restaurant service along with the food was very displeasing with the portions and just feeling rushed to put your order in.
This was a small cruise line but the amount of people it held wherever you walked to/ went it was packed constantly- waiting in lines ...
I agree with All the reviews of don't take this cruise for the following reason, briefly:
1. Food horrible
2. They do accessive charges on your card.
3. They change policies as you aboard, things are not within the contract. Subject to change quickly without notification.
4. Lines are long for the food service.
5. Rude.
6. No one is on the same page as duties entire.
7. ...
