I have never written a review about anything. But I chose this cruise because I read a lot of reviews and felt like I needed to mention things that I had not seen on previous reviews
The food and meal staff were amazing
Now, for the negative, pretty much everything else. This ship is extremely outdated, had very strong odors, which smelt like sewer. You have a total of two outlets in your ...
This is the sixth cruise we have taken with Carnival. This was BY FAR the worst cruise we have ever taken.
* The Valor appeared to be a run-down, aging ship. Stats show it to be 19 years old but appeared much older.
* We voiced our dissatisfaction to Guest Services mid-cruise but never received any follow up to our concerns.
* Our last cruise was aboard the Mardi Gras and it was great. ...
We thought it would be fun to cruise out of New Orleans. Getting on the ship was a breeze! We had a suite so it was the first time we had priority boarding. We got to the port at 11:15 and were on the ship eating lunch by 11:30. Sail away was awesome - very cool to sail though the city and down the Mississippi. Our room steward, Webster was AMAZING. He took good care of us and also always started ...
We combined a trip to the National WWII Museum in New Orleans with this cruise. This was the only reason for selecting the Glory. Our hotel (Holiday Inn Express) is a little over a half mile from the cruise terminal but after walking the Riverwalk and Convention Center, I don't think that there is a way to get there other than by taxi. Cost was around $20. We had an early check in time and from ...
After reading other reviews, I was so anxious and worried about the cruise we had booked on the Freedom. We've sailed with carnival multiple other times so we had an idea of what to expect, but with tales of poor room conditions, understaffing, bad smells, over crowding, etc, I was very concerned.
Our cruise was wonderful. The ship was clean and well kept. Our room (inside cabin on first deck) ...
A friend invited us to join them. Big mistake. Food was tasteless unless going to specialty dining areas. Buffet sucked in plain English. Housekeeping was fantastic. All staff were outstanding and friendly. Just felt overcrowded. As a non smoker I could not spend more than 30 minutes in the casino. Smokers would rather sit in there and smoke (not playing) so that they did not have to go to the 3rd ...
Team lead server Udaya was great! So was team server Maxvel & Asst. Team Server Putu & Ari my cleaner for my room & service! Overall I had a great cruise & the service was great. The service at the dinning was so good & the food was great. The services & assistance at the dinning was great with good attitude. Ari was great as in needing anything & always had a smile on his face no matter what. The ...
We were able to leave from Charleston which is close to where we live. The main dining room food was very poor even though my husband and I are not fussy eaters. The best piece of meat I had the whole cruise was a steak I paid an extra $25 for. "Specialty"restaurants were a joke. They were the same restaurants we ate in during the day.
Then they put tablecloths on the tables, charged you ...
While the initial check-in process was smooth, we then had to sit in a large room with hundreds of other people for over a half hour until we could board. The Boat layout is extremely confusing and you have to go to other floors to get around to your final destination. We got lost 3 times before we found the Habana bar. The boat stinks of sewage A LOT. And not in only one location but everywhere. ...
Opinions. YMMV.
Tl;dr
Had a good time. Was only disappointed once: the “hold-em” dealer was a grump. Miami to Key West to Cozumel to Miami. Balcony room. Entertainment was fantastic. Food was very good except pizza and Guy’s Burgers. Lots of ship board activities all day. Great for people watching too. The Tulum shore excursion had a LOT of travel by ferry and bus. Husband/Wife very senior ...
