Carnival San Juan Cruise Reviews

Great meeting this guy, humble and transparent. He just knows what he's doing. As I said,if He is not your cruise activity director, just ask for a refund lol. He's that good.

We were a party of 6 who cruised on the Valor December 8-15, 2013 and we had a very good trip. We stayed in a balcony cabin on the port side of the ship, as did another couple in our group {two floors down}. The other couple had an interior cabin on the same floor. Our room was a nice cabin with everything working and a very good cleaning crew that kept it spotless. We didn't have problems with ...

My wife and I are parents and grandparents. We decided to cruise back to back on the Summit. During the first week we cruised alone. On the second week our daughter, her husband and our granddaughter came aboard. For those thinking a back to back, getting off at the end of week one was easy and quick. The staff took us to Customs and followed us back. Everything went smooth. The food was great. ...

What a trip! From the beginning to the end, it was great with just one problem. It seems Carnival has adjusted the "corkage fee" policy. In years past, I have brought champagne with me, opened it prior to going to the MDR, and there was no problem. This time, they charged me a $10 corkage fee even though I had already popped the cork. Because of this, I decided not to book a $150 fishing ...

Pros - Lots of ports for a one week cruise Cabin space generous for this type of cruising No mass illness during our cruise Cons - Poor service (housekeeping, dining, embark/debark) Expect to wait in line again and again Food of average quality (24 hour room service is adequate if sandwiches are your thing) Average dining options are time limited - eat on the ship's schedule or enjoy your ...

Just got off the Valor and wanted to add my 2 cents worth. Too many of the reviews on here are nit-picky and just way off base. Pre cruise ... Stayed at the Embassy suites by the airport. Great hotel with a fabulous pool and managers happy hour that was 3 hours long and with nicely mixed cocktails. Lacking a little on the finger foods..basically consisted of chips with ranch and salsa. If you ...

San Juan Pre-cruise  We flew in the day before our cruise and stayed at the Coral Princess. This boutique hotel was very quaint, the staff welcoming & although on the small side our room (#17) was clean with a comfortable bed and commodities. We ate dinner at the Café del Angel, a short walk from the hotel. We enjoyed our dinners which we felt were reasonably priced and the restaurant staff was ...

This is our 8th cruise. We are in our late 30's from VA and traveled with 4 others. We all had balcony rooms on deck 6. Yes the cruise had more people from PR on it and some of the activities and music was geared towards the Latin culture. To be honest it was a nice change. After a few cruises the same music, same shows, etc gets old. At night there was a bit more noise than normal but we were so ...

Carnival Valor....good not great

For the price paid for the balcony room on the Lido deck, you couldn't beat it. We have been on 12 other cruises of which 8 were balconies, and this was the cheapest we have ever paid for a balcony.....so to Carnival, a big thank you. I could go on a day by day breakdown but will refrain. Instead, some of the great, the good, the bad, & the ugly. On the great side, our MDR waiter Gerald from the ...

This is the first time cruising the Eastern Caribbean for us. We have been to a number of islands in the area, but not to St. Kitts, St. Lucia and Barbados. Good weather and some beautiful islands - great time of year. Things gone right: Great Room Service from the Steward - He was the best and deserved more of a tip than we gave. Food was good to excellent. Buffett had a good selection and ...

Not the Carnival we remembered

Minuses: Told to take our own luggage on board the ship to our cabin. Never met or saw our Cabin Steward. Our room was dirty for the first 3 days. Used band aid and hair on balcony. Furniture was old, carpeting soiled. It was only deep cleaned after we complained to the Head Purser but the room was still dirty. Lido deck area and Buffet Dining area was dirty with ground in filth under each table. ...
