Carnival San Diego Cruise Reviews

Great meeting this guy, humble and transparent. He just knows what he's doing. As I said,if He is not your cruise activity director, just ask for a refund lol. He's that good.

Fun and Adventure on the Spirit with very little bruising

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Carnival Spirit

This was my fourth cruise in the last two years, my first time sailing out of West Coast. First off the ship! I really like that there was four out door pools which ensured people were able to space out and you never felt crowded. I spent the majority of my time at the AFT pool and was always able to get a lounge chair by arriving at 10:00am, sometimes it did get busy but there was always a ...

My friend and I just returned from a cruise to Acapulco, Ixtapa/Zihuantanejo and Manzanillo on the Carnival Spirit. We had a wonderful time! This is our 4th cruise together, having experienced Carnival, Princess and Royal Caribbean. This was my 9th cruise and I've been on Carnival, Princess, NCL, Celebrity, Disney and Royal Caribbean. I enjoy reading the Cruise Critic reviews before I ...

We booked a suite (V23) on the Veranda deck near the front of the ship (deck 11) for a 3 day cruise to Ensenada. We booked the cruises online thru the Carnival web site. After the final payment, you are able to complete and print our your "Fun Pass" which is also your boarding pass, and Carnival luggage tags. The port of San Diego allows embarkation at 12:30 for a 5:30 departure. There is a ...

Met My Expectations...Barely

Let me begin by saying that the Carnival Spirit is a fine ship...the cruise staff were competent and friendly. Our room was clean and well designed; and a variety of entertainment was offered. One would have to out of their way not to have a good time on this 8 day cruise to the Mexican Riviera. Our cabin was fine...it was in the aft section looking out...balancy was fine...There were a few ...

If you are planning a Cruise on the Carnival Spirit, here are a few thing we noticed on our October 26th 2009 sailing to Mexico... When arriving at the port of San Diego all looked normal. We checked in and went to wait to board, The port was packed and the Elation was Leaving the same day. The workers inside the port had no idea what they were doing, every time someone new came into ...

After I booked but before I went on Elation's four night cruise to Catalina and Ensenada, I looked at the all the reviews on this website. Most folks were pretty down on the food, entertainment, and decor, so I had low expectations. Having just returned I must say either I have low standards or others have unrealistic expectations. Below are my thoughts on the cruise. Food - We sat in the ...

Carnival Elation - Even Better Than Before!

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Carnival Elation

I just returned from a 5-day cruise out of San Diego on the Carnival Elation. This is our third cruise and, strictly by coincidence, all have been on the Elation - the first having been 5 years ago. Prior to the cruise I read several reviews on this forum which seemed to indicate the ship and the service was in decline. My experience was exactly the opposite. I believe the ship was recently ...

First of all let me say, you get what you pay for and in this case we expected less and got more. We were looking for an inexpensive vacation and found this cruise to be very affordable. This is our third cruise on the Elation. We first cruised on this ship in 2000. We were pleasantly surprised to find the ship in such good shape. The ship was clean. The staff was friendly but not pushy. ...

Great Cruise for a Great Value

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Carnival Elation

Let me begin by stating that for all you luxury cruisers out there, this is no Celebrity, Holland America, or even Princess. If you want a high-end pamper, luxury cruise with excellent food by Michellin Star chefs, don't cruise on Carnival. However, if you want a fun time with great value, I personally prefer Carnival way more than Royal Caribbean, which I consider to be around the same class ...

We sailed the Elation on a five day cruise to Baja Mexico. This was our fifth cruise and third on carnival. We have also sailed Celebrity (best cruise ever) and NCL (didn't like free-style). This was our first 5 day cruise (the others were all 7 days) and first time sailing on the west coast. We drove in the morning of the cruise from the Phoenix area to San Diego. It was about a 5 and a half ...
