Just returned from an 8 day cruise on the Carnival Magic. The Magic is a very nice ship for families and groups.

Took a cruise on the Magic with my wife and teenage daughter and son in late August right before the hurricane re-routed the ships. The Magic is a beautiful ship and overall we were very satisfied with the cruise. Here are the positives and things that could be improved in my opinion:

We got super lucky with our timing avoided Ivan chaos by one week, our thoughts and prayers go out to those not as lucky. So first time experience. Excellent value. I have enjoyed Carnival cruises in the past, and they have been a major portion of the 25 or so cruises I have been on, the last Carnival was about 6 years ago on the Dream.
Getting on board was a disaster the elevators forward were mobbed I went to mid ships and they were out of service for luggage so we ended up climbing eight floors to our cabin.
