Carnival Magic rates basic with nothing to impress

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Carnival Magic

Let me say I have been on other Carnival ships over the years and also other cruise lines. Across the board this cruise ship would rate last of the eight ships I have been on. The theater shows were not varied - singers and dancers were high school show choir quality. Comedy shows were repeated. The ship was not easy to navigate. You had to go down decks and then back up to get from one end ...

This was a birthday cruise with my sister. The ship was great and we had a good time. I had been on the Magic before and really liked the ship. The Cruise Director was excellent probably the best of all of the cruises I have done. he was able to entertain and work with all ages. The entertainment was great. Show every night and the comedian was very funny. Loved the piano bar, Brandon was ...

Excellent Vacation

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Sunshine

We picked this cruise for the reasonable cost and a chance to see four ports in eight days. My wife, parents, and I had a great time. Embarkation was just as expected for a non-priority traveler. Check-in was smooth, but had to wait a little for our zone to be called to board. We did some research prior to our cruise and learned we were traveling on an older (updated) ship. We had an interior ...

Crowded!!

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Sunshine

Good value, great ports to visit. The entertainment was non-existent, low budget! One good show "Epic Rock" great graphics, but the sound was unbearable. The other was 'Latin Nights" this show was OK, not bad one good show in 8 nights. Other activities in the pool area were very crowded, lounge chairs were never picked up so people had to dance on the edge, so it was difficult to walk across ...

We chose this cruise because we prefer to sail out of Port Canaveral, we like the Sunshine overall and wanted to try an 8 day cruise. Sailing out of Port Canaveral is a great experience since it is very easy to get to from I-95, Orlando and the surrounding area. The port is very clean and has great places to eat before of after your cruise. The Sunshine is a great ship with a nice layout. ...

We are mid-60s, active travelers. We have cruised only twice before - once on Norwegian and once on Windstar. We have loved cruising and wanted to try something shorter and cheaper for a quick trip. We decided to try Carnival out of Port Canaveral for a convenient December break. It was definitely a mixed bag for us. We wouldn't do Carnival again, but that's just because it didn't suit our ...

I love to go on cruises and wanted to book a 4 day getaway in December with my wife. I found this cruise and although I didn't love the itinerary- I said what the hell its a cruise. This ship is no different from the other Carnival ships, but after being on the Sunshine 3 out of the past 4 Carnival cruises I have been on and feeling that the last time the service and cleanliness both ...

Carnival keeps sinking.

We keep cruising with Carnival because they are the cheapest, which wasn't the case back in 1998 when we started using them with an Alaska cruise. Back then you were greeted with a large basket in the bathroom filled with goodies, soap, creams, toothpaste and toothbrushes. Robes were there for you, and on the bed there was always a welcome gift for the guests. Now we were down to a single bar of ...

Fun First Time Experience

As first time cruisers we partially knew what to expect because of relatives experiences and advise. Embarkation went very smooth and we got on the ship without delay. Just seeing the size of the Liberty for the first time was impressive. Our first day was spent exploring the ship and finding out where everything we were interested in was located. Hint; If you want to get a lot of walking ...

Disappointed

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Carnival Liberty

This was our first cruise and were not impressed at all. The luggage handlers ripped my husbands carry on to the point the zipper was completely ripped out. They offered to replace a Tommy Hilfiger bag with a $20 carnival bag. Obviously we had to accept it because we needed a carry on for the plane. Then our excursion was canceled. ( I understand this happens, it was just a disappointment to have ...
