I have to admit at first I was not ecstatic about going on Carnival. But when it came time to book a New Year's cruise for my wife and 2 kids the itinerary and price where hard to pass up so we figured why not.

Been on 3 previous cruises because my girlfriend and I like the amount of travel to cost.
Over crowded boat, so get ready for lines everywhere.
Staff is not trained in service or etiquette except for a few (Alchemy Bar).
Food is mediocre at best.
Comedy shows were good.
Stage shows were not.

My wife & I. Are diamond carnival cruisers (47) & took our son , daughter in law , & grandson for a New Years cruise. We paid more than average for the newest ship & got less. Less service for one ....the dinning room waiters on average serve 30-40 people per seating. The dinning experience in general was sub standard for cruising ....poor food quality & choice. I have cruised before with Carnival and other cruise lines.
Cons:
- I feel our before cruises have been better than this because dining. They don't offer much variety of meats and salads at main dining every night.

Our flight was delayed getting in to Miami and we called Carnival to notify them.
As a result, they were ready for us when we arrived which was a relief!
It was a 40th anniversary trip that left on Dec. 26.
We visited four ports and our favorite was Aruba to which we would return.
We enjoyed visiting the other three ports we saw as wall.

We sailed from December 26th to January 3rd, 2017. The route was Turk Caicos, La Romana, Aruba and Curazao. This was fine. But:
1- Poor meal variety
2- No a great quality of shows

Embarkation/Disembarkation both were a breeze. We arrived and since we had booked a suite, had priority. Our cabin was ready by 12;30 as promised.
